Luke watched as Michael put makeup on the models. He was an amazing makeup artist, but he never wore it himself.

"All models to the set!" Luke heard, so he looked over and saw all of the beautiful people walking onto the set. He lightly smiled, interested in the profession. He found it fascinating that these people were so pretty that they could make millions off of their pictures.

Luke saw Michael cleaning up his desk, so he ran over and sat in the models chair.

"My turn!" He said, and giggled.

Michael turned around and laughed, shaking his head a little.

"Cmon, Mikey. I wanna look like them." Luke said, and Michael shook his head, continuing to clean up.

"Absolutely not, Luke." He said, and Luke's face fell a little bit.

"Sorry..." Luke whispered, staying quiet as Michael cleaned up his stuff.

Luke turned around and watched the models do their thing. They all looked pretty from every single angle. Luke couldn't help but feel jealous of them. They had it all.

He usually didn't come to work with Michael, but he finally asked, and Michael didn't hesitate to say no.

Michael has never done Luke's makeup before. Not even just for practice. Luke's tried doing it himself, but he doesn't know how. He ends up just washing it all off immediately after.

"Do you think maybe one day you'll do my-" Luke cut himself off as he saw the models walking off the set. The girls went in another direction, but a few boys came toward us, and removed their clothes they were instructed to wear for the shoot.

"Get up, baby." Michael said, and Luke stood up, walking behind Michael's makeup table.

He watched as a handsome, muscular guy sat down. The other ones waited by the chair for their turn.

They were all so toned and tan. Everything about them was perfect. They didn't have one external flaw combined.

"You guys did amazing." He heard Michael say as he removed their makeup.

They all talked and laughed as Luke just stood an awkward distance away, staying silent.

He hated how close Michael was with them. Sure it was his job, but it still made Luke feel awful.

He walked away and frowned once he saw all of the girls on the set. They all looked so beautiful too.

"Hi..." Luke said, desperately wanting to talk to someone so he could distract himself from his insecure thoughts.

A few of the girls turned and smiled at him.

"You guys did great." He said, and he got a mix of 'we know' and 'thank you's

"You guys are so talented. I've always kind of wanted to try modeling, but I don't think I could d-"

"Absolutely not." He heard one of them say, and his face fell a little.

That was the second time he's heard somebody say 'absolutely not' to him, and both times it has made him feel like shit.

He just turned and left, walking back toward Michael.

His eyes filled with tears as he saw Michael and the three guys laughing about something somebody said.

He turned the other way, and saw a table with a mirror. He stepped closer and took one good look at himself. He wondered how Michael could settle for someone like him when he is constantly surrounded by 10s.
