"good morning, sunshine.." luke giggled as he woke up, leaning his head against michael's chest.

"hey babe." michael said sleepily, standing up.

"hey. where are you going? you don't have to work today." luke pouted, standing up also.

"um. i don't know. just downstairs i guess. i'm probably just gonna watch ncis if we have nothing else to do." michael said, and luke playfully rolled his eyes, walking over, and holding michael's hands.

"on our twenty year anniversary?" luke giggled.

"oh, right.." michael laughed, kissing luke's head. "...we're not gonna make this a big deal right?"

"well, no, but i'm still your princess and you should probably go make me breakfast or something." luke said, grinning.

michael laughed a little, and hugged luke for a second.

"in your dreams..." michael said, making luke pout at him.

michael went downstairs, and luke walked down the hall to the kids' rooms.

he managed to get all 3 of them up out of bed, and into the kitchen without a fight.

"where's breakfast?" trey, the oldest asked. he was 9, and following in the footsteps of michael, wanting colorful hair and ripped jeans.

"well, i thought your dad was gonna fix something..." luke said softly, looking to the living room and seeing michael on the couch. "...give me a minute and i'll cook. what do you guys want?"

"pop tarts!" they all said almost at the same time, and luke shrugged, getting the box out of the pantry.

he popped three in the toaster, and walked back over to the counter, smiling at his daughter.

"how are you feeling, miss audrey?" luke asked, pushing back her light blonde hair. she was only 5, but sometimes she worried luke. she could get very sad, and has been showing harmful signs like hitting herself, and calling herself stupid. she was beautiful, but sometimes had a little trouble being happy.

"don't feel good today." she mumbled, and laid her head down on the table.

luke kissed her head, and rubbed her back.

"jackson! stop that right now!" luke scolded as the middle child, age 7, hit his brother in the back.

jackson was kind of the trouble maker, always finding ways to break things or hurt someone wether it be intentionally or not.

"dad!" the little girl whined, holding out grabby hands.

luke picked her up, and let her snuggle into his neck. "you're okay, angel."

"red day." she whined, and luke frowned as he carried her to the living room. she always rated her days from green to red. green day's were good, yellow days were alright, and red days were almost unbearable.

"hey, michael?" luke asked, but saw michael wasn't in the living room anymore.

he sighed and gave up, just walking back to the kitchen.

"hey dad?" trey asked, and luke looked over to see the little boy with three burnt poptarts.

"oh gosh. i'm so sorry." he sighed, and rubbed her forehead.

"it's okay. i'll put more in." he said, and luke walked out of the kitchen, going to find michael.

luke walked towards the door to see michael putting his jacket on.

"hey, babe. where are you going?" luke asked, hiding his annoyance since his daughter was in his arms.

"um. over to ashton's. i'm gonna help him finish painting the interior of his house." he said.

"but you said you were only doing that on the weekends." luke said, speaking through his obviously fake, irritated grin.

"i am, but since i have a day of i figured i would go over there." michael said, and luke sighed.

"i know we're not going big on the anniversary thing, but since this is our day, i was thinking maybe you could stay home? help me out with the kids a little? we were gonna all go outside and-"

"i think you've got this under control." michael laughed, and sounds of pots falling came from the kitchen.

"you know what? yeah. yeah you go ahead. i mean, i do this everyday. it's not like i don't have practice already." luke said sarcastically and sat the little girl down.

she immediately started screaming and stomping her feet on the hardwood beneath her, her hands scratching at her arms.

luke picked her back up and held her tight as he quickly walked to the kitchen.

"leave me alone!" trey yelled, pushing his brother as the younger sibling hit him with a spoon, pretending it was a sword.

"enough!" luke yelled, causing the little girl to jump because of the loud voice.

she started crying loudly against his shoulder, and jackson hit trey again. the older boy picked up a pan to shield himself, and jackson started hitting it quickly, the loud noise scaring audrey even more.

"i said, enough!" luke whisper yelled, taking the spoon from jackson's hands. "time out, jackson."

luke watched as the younger boy walked over to the chair in the corner and sat down, his arms crossed.

"now trey, set the pan down and give me one of those poptarts." luke sighed.

he did as he was told, and luke handed audrey her breakfast.

there was finally some quiet in the house, and luke sighed in relief.

he relaxed a little when he felt two arms wrap around his waist from behind.

"i'm so sorry." he heard michael whisper.

"it's okay now." luke said softly, finally able to breathe.

michael took the little girls from luke's arms, and luke looked up at him.

"go lay down. this is your day off, okay?" michael said, and luke shook his head.

"no you don't have to do that-"

"just go lay down. i've got this." michael laughed.

"thank you." luke said quietly.

"don't thank me, just tell me what you want for breakfast. i think it's like our anniversary or something and you're a princess, so you get to be spoiled today." michael pressed a kiss to luke's forehead, and the younger man smiled.

"really?" luke asked, a hopeful look in his eyes.

"of course. what do you want?" michael asked, and luke smiled.

"eggos with sugar sprinkles and whipped cream." luke said, and michael rolled his eyes a little, smiling at luke.

"you're such a child. go lay down." michael laughed, and luke smiled, skipping off to the couch.

"love you, mikey!"

"love you, lukey."
