michael smiled as he poked luke's hip again, watching the younger boy giggle and squirm on his lap
"stop, mikey. this is a big deal. i have to finish this email." luke said, and continued to type on his computer.
"baby, you're gonna get into this school, and i know it. you have one interview left. you're getting in." michael said, and luke smiled, leaning back on michael's chest.
"don't jinx it, mikey." luke said softly, kissing his boyfriends jaw.
"i'm not going to. you have worked so hard to get into this school. you're getting it no matter what." michael laughed.
"thanks, mikey."
-
luke walked into the door with tears falling from his eyes. he slammed the door behind him, and stomped to the kitchen.
"i didn't get in, michael. they sent me home before i even did the interview." luke cried.
"baby, i'm sorry.." michael whispered, and opened his arms for luke, but the blonde shook his head.
"no! this is your fault, michael! this is all your fault! i've been working for years to get the requirements to go to this school, and all i had to do was write one damn email, and go to one last interview and you messed that up for me!" luke yelled, and michael hugged him anyway.
luke screamed and pushed on michael's chest, but the older boy wasn't letting him go. "i hate you." luke cried, and pushed on michael's chest several times.
"i know you do, baby. i know."
"it's all your fault!" luke sobbed, and hit michael's chest.
"i know, i'm sorry." michael said quietly.
they both knew it wasn't either of their faults, but luke was so torn up. michael was not going to argue or try to tell luke he was wrong. he was going to let him get it out.
"i hate you."
"i know, luke."
luke stopped fighting michael's grasp and just cried on his shoulder, letting michael hold him up.
"i'm sorry, michael." luke whispered, holding tight to michael's shoulders.
"shhh..." michael whispered, and held luke's head to his shoulder. "...it's okay, luke. it's okay."
michael picked luke up, and held him tight as he walked over to the couch. he sat down, and rubbed luke's back softly.
"i love you, luke. don't think you didn't get in because you're not good enough. you are so amazingly talented, but maybe it's just not your time. let's try again next semester, okay? and if that doesn't happen, we can keep trying until you get in, okay?" michael said, and luke nodded, wiping his eyes.
"i love you, mikey. i don't hate you."
"i know, baby. and i love you."
