luke stood up off of the couch, and rubbed his sleepy eyes.
he pouted when he looked around at the empty, dark living room.
when luke turned his phone on, the sudden brightness made him squint his eyes as he tried reading the time.
4:06 a.m.
luke yawned and threw his phone back down on the couch before walking in the direction of the bedroom he shared with his husband.
luke slowly and softly walked into the room, but michael was the lightest sleeper in the world and would wake up if he just felt someone near him.
"baby.." michael mumbled, and smiled as he slowly opened his eyes in the dark room.
"hey, go back to sleep.." luke whispered, and crawled in beside michael.
"don't worry about me. why didn't you ever come to bed?" michael yawned.
"i accidentally fell asleep on the couch." luke said, and michael laughed a bit, holding his arms open for luke.
luke scooted closer on the small bed, and laid his head on michael's chest.
michael ran his hand through luke's hair while his other arm was wrapped tightly around the small boy's waist.
luke always felt so protected in michaels arms.
"even though we've been married for five years i feel like we're still in the honeymoon phase." luke giggled softly.
"oh of course we are. we're always gonna be in the honey moon phase. you know why?" michael asked, and luke lifted his head, looking up at his favorite person.
"why?" luke giggled.
"because we're so, so in love." michael told him before pressing kisses all over luke's face as the younger boy went into a fit of giggles.
michael placed his last kiss right on luke's pretty lips before letting luke calm back down and get ready to fall back asleep.
"i love you, mikey."
"i love you too, baby. now go on back to sleep. if you stay up too much longer you'll be grumpy in the morning and i'll have to deal with it." he said, and luke smiled, pressing his lips to michael's chest before laying his head in the exact spot.
"good night."
"good night, sweetheart."
