"hi, baby. i love you so so so much." michael said quietly, rocking back and forth on his feet as he stood in the doorway of the kitchen."oh gosh. what did you do?" luke asked, turning around from the sink full of dishes.
"what? can i not just tell my beautiful husband how much i love him?" michael asked, walking over, and wrapping his arms around luke's waist.
"seriously, michael. what did you do?" luke asked, a little smile pulling at his lips.
michael grinned and walked out of the kitchen before coming back in very quickly.
"i know i didn't ask you first but look..." michael said, and held up a little orange kitten.
"michael gordon clifford." luke said quietly, looking up at the older man.
"i saw him at the shelter on my way to work and i just had to, luke. look at how precious he is!" michael said, admiring the animal.
"he's cute, but we can't just get a cat, michael-"
"and why not?" michael asked.
"well, there's these things called bills that need to be paid instead of spending money on a cat." luke said with his hands on his hips.
"did you hear that, tucker? luke doesn't want you." michael said, talking to the little kitten in his hands.
luke reached forward and swatted michael's arm. "don't tell him that."
"but lukey i can't go back to the shelter." michael said in a baby voice, holding the kitten in front of his face.
"michael, stop it."
"lukey, love me please?"
luke rolled his eyes, and took the little kitten in his hands.
"he's too cute." luke whispered, looking at the little ball of fur.
"he can stay?" michael asked, and luke nodded, cuddling the cat in his arms.
"thank you thank you thank you. i love you so much." michael said, holding luke tight, and placing several kisses up luke's neck.
"whatever, clifford. i love you too."
