christmas stuff requested by 3948294 people, or like 5 or something like that

"daddy's gonna come home tonight, right?" luke heard.

he looked down, and lightly smiled at his son on his lap. even though he was adopted, he looked so much like michael.

"yeah, baby. he promised." luke whispered.

luke heard his phone ringing in the kitchen, so he got up, letting his kid stay on the couch.

luke hurried, and sighed in relief when he saw it was michael's contact.

"hey sweetheart," he heard once he picked up the phone.

"michael, where are you at?!" luke asked quietly.

michael was away on business but he promised he would be home by christmas eve.

"i'm not gonna be home tonight. i- i might be home tomorrow night but-"

"michael, no.." luke whispered, and looked back at jordan who was sitting on the couch by himself now.

"baby, i'm sorry." michael said, and luke felt his heart breaking for his son.

"michael, this is jordan's first real christmas. it's our first christmas with our baby. you have to be here," luke said, tears in his eyes.

his six year old has never had a real christmas before, and he's been so excited.

"i know, and i want to be there, but i don't know if i can leave. i have a conference tomorrow-"

"is that daddy?!"

luke wiped his eyes quickly and pulled the phone back.

"yeah, you wanna talk to him?" luke asked, and he nodded quickly.

luke picked him up, and sat him on the counter, putting the phone on speaker.

"hi dad!" he giggled, smiling brightly.

"hey, buddy. i miss you so much." michael said.

"i miss you too, but when you get home we can make a gingerbread house like you promised, right?! i've been waiting all day." he said, kicking his feet over the side of the counter.

"listen, i-"

"or we can make those santa cookies. i've never had santa cookies before. oh- oh me and dad got all of us matching pajamas and he said we can all wear them tonight and watch a christmas movie. and you have to call before you get home because i'm making you a present, and you can't see it. got it?"

"got it. don't worry."

"i'm so happy!" the little boy yelled, leaning into luke.

luke watched as the little boy jumped down, and ran into the living room where he was working on a present for his dad.

luke took the phone off of speaker, and pressed it to his ear.

"please be here tonight. michael, he's gonna be so upset if you're not here." luke whispered.

"i'll see what i can do, but this is really important-"

"michael, it's his first christmas. i will drive up there to the hotel you're at if it means both of us will be there." luke said softly.

"no- no don't do that. i don't want you to drive five hours by yourself. i'll see what i can do, okay?"

"you better be home in about seven hours, michael. i know your job is important, and i'm not asking you to risk your job, but you're never gonna get this moment back."

"i know. i love you, luke." michael sighed.

"i love you too. call me later, okay?"

"of course."

-

"it's 6:03." luke heard, and looked down, seeing jordan in the pajamas they bought last night. "he was supposed to be here three minutes ago."

"you're tough. give him a few more minutes, okay? traffic might have been bad."

"you're right." jordan said, nodding.

luke was afraid he would have to make excuses like that all night. he didn't have the heart to tell his son that his dad wasn't gonna be home for christmas.

"do you wanna go ahead and start the movie? i know he's not home yet, but time will go by fast." luke said, and ran his hand through his sons hair.

"do you think he will be mad?" jordan asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"no, of course not." luke giggled, and the little boy nodded his head, running to the living room.

"i'm gonna go put my pajamas on, okay?" luke said, and he heard a small 'okay' come from the living room as he ran upstairs.

luke slowly took off his pants and shirt, thinking of new excuses to tell jordan when he heard the little boy yell.

"dad! you're home!"

luke was left in his boxers as he ran out of the room, and saw michael at the bottom of the stairs, holding jordan.

"michael!" luke yelled, running down the stairs.

"oh gosh! dad is naked!" jordan yelled, covering his eyes as luke hugged the two of them.

michael laughed, and wrapped his free arm around luke, holding him tight.

"why don't me and luke go get our pajamas on while you go start the movie?" michael said, and jordan nodded, getting down.

michael pulled luke up the stairs once the little boy was gone, and picked him up, shutting the door to their bedroom.

luke smiled once michael ran over to the bed, laying luke down quickly.

"i missed you." michael smiled, and pecked luke's lips.

"i missed you too..." luke said, smiling brightly as he laid underneath michael. "...i didn't think you were coming home."

"we probably shouldn't expect a christmas bonus this year, but i had to. i care more about my kid than my job. he deserves this christmas with the both of us. he deserves to be spoiled, and i think you do too.." michael said, leaning down, pressing his lips to luke's neck.

"hey.." luke giggled, pushing michael back. "...we can't right now. wait until later and after you're done putting jordan's presents out, maybe santa can get a present of his own."

michael smirked, and pecked luke's lips.

"i love you." michael whispered.

"i love you too, and i really appreciate you coming home. now, let's get dressed and go downstairs."
