You and the guys hadn't found any more clues to where Ellen and Mark could be, until you stumbled across a tree. That seemed normal of course, but what the hell was it doing here in the middle of a labyrinth? You walk around the huge tree, it's leaves slowly rustling in the breeze. There seemed to be nothing special about it, except it must be the only tree in the entire labyrinth. There also was one of the tiny ponds, so you and the others could drink a bit. An image started appearing, like before, but it was neither Mark or Ellen. It was you. Little baby you, held in your parent's arms. The next image appeared. You had grown, must be around four or five years old. You were running around in a garden, having family members chase you. And you remember it. It was a beautiful, warm, summer day. The image started changing again. It was ten year old you, smiling as you hugged your pet (if you don't have/had one irl, imagine you do). The memories came back to you, all the beautiful times you had. Then there was teenage you, smiling, on a group photo of you and your sports club/classmates/family. You had struggled a lot in those times, but you were able to stay strong and made it through. Then there was a picture of something you hadn't seen before, or even experienced. It was a wedding. Your wedding, to be exact. The image was too blurry to make out the face of the male person standing next to you, but it was definetly you in the wedding dress. You tear up all of a sudden, as the next image appears. It was the same room as the wedding picture, but instead of you and your dear 'who tf knows who that is' (most likely Mark hint hint nudge nudge elbow elbow), there was a single coffin. Besides that and lots, LOTS of flowers, the room was empty. It was like there was... A choice. The good or the bad ending...
That's when you snapped back to reality. Without you knowing it, the others had tried to get you out of your trance. You look up at them, and then back at the pond. You hadn't realized how deep it was until now: it looked like it was kilometers until the bottom. You then noticed something else. Something shiny in the deep, it looked like the sort of shininess you'd see on jewelry. You narrowed your eyes and notice that it wasn't just something tiny and shiny: it was Ellen, chained to a reef and unconsious, maybe even dead. Before thinking what you should do you jump into the pond that had looked so tiny before, and swim to the girl. The water was surprisingly warm, but once you were in it you realized something: you couldn't breathe under water, and in less than a minute you'd drown. Only a few meters 'till you'd reach Ellen you started to faint. The oxygen in your body was running out, your vision got blurry, and you felt like you had to puke. The water entered your mouth, this was it.
Then, out of nowhere, you had a burst of energy! You could breathe, and within seconds you had broken the chains and brought Ellen to the surface. You had done it. How? That didn't matter right now. You were still alive.
