Ch. 64: Confusion [50K special]

The group continued on their way, this time joined by Tahlia.
"So? Did Katie take one of those leaves?" You asked her, suddenly remembering why you went to the caves in the first place. "Yes, yes she did. It's so odd... My sisters haven't attacked her at all." Tahlia responded. "I'm still surprised she's even alive!" Jonathan cut in the conversation. "I mean, I've seen what happened out there. She was dead!" He said. "Yes, yes she was..." you mumbled as the image of Katie's dead body came back to you. "Y/N? You don't happen to have seen wounds on her, do you?" Tahlia asked. "N-no, I don't think so" you say as the horrifying image faded again. "Why does that sound familiar..." Jupiter mumbled. "Why does what sound familiar?" Rebecca asked, clearly annoyed by all the vagueness of the situation. "Here in these exact woods, once lived a witch. No one knew her name, but people mostly called her the 'Beauty and the Beast'; she was like both in one. She was gorgeous, but quite violent as well. Trust me, I tell you all this from experience." Jupter said. "Please tell me you didn't..." Loryn sighed. "Well, I was going to, but she turned out to like murdering her lovers, so I ran away before she could rip out my heart." Jupiter said. "But... you did 'the thing' with her..." Loryn cringed. "Well, yeah, duh. Don't worry, apperantly witches have some spell called 'fetus deletus', so I didn't even have to worry about kids at all! Brilliant!" Jupiter said. Loryn facepalmed herself again. 'Why use television when you have these idiots?' You smiled to yourself. "Jupiter, if you could go on with the story?" Rebecca groaned. "Oh, right. As I said, I fucked a gorgeous witch-" "not that." "Okay, I fucked a beautiful witch-" "JUPITER." "Fine! She was gorgeous and clever, but had a darker side to her. On the outside she was perfect, but on the inside she was broken. She didn't have the ability to love. And that turned her into a monster: she murdered people to fill the empty hole in her soul. Quickly, just stop their heart and that was it. It pleased her. No wounds, no blood, nothing. Just death." Jupiter slowly spoke. The rest of the group stared at him in horror. "Is that what happened to Katie?" You asked hesitantly. "I don't think so. Besides, if Katie was really dead, she'd be on las Islas de los Muertos right now." Charlie interrupted. "So? What else could have happened?" "Now that you mention it... the witch was a shapeshifter as well 'cause she was related to mermaids... Is it possible that she actually did murder Katie and shapeshifted into her?" Jupiter thought out loud. "What if the real Katie actually is on the Islands?"

Everything became a bit confusing, so you and the others decided to make a list of everything that happened and should still be done.
1. Get a companionship to save Y/N's friends from Las Islas de los Muertos.
2. Get Thoran.
3. Find out why Thoran was under a love potion.
4. Get the cure for Thoran.
5. Get Thoran (again) and find the Flame.
6. Save Y/N's friends.
It wasn't a complete plan, but it helped getting everything back on track a bit.
"Hey, Tahlia? You never explained; why did Katie come? You saw her, so what happened? Don't leave out any details." Charlie asked Tahlia. "Well, I remember her just walking in silently. I watched from behind a rock so she couldn't see me. She swam to the rock island with the tree and talked to one of my sisters, got the leaf, and left."
"What did they talk about?"
"I couldn't hear everything since I was at quite a distance, but what I did hear was that she wanted 'to get power over the woods again'" Tahlia said. "Again?" Rebecca asked. "Jupiter, was the witch in control of the woods?" You asked the blonde elf. "I suppose so? Due to her reputation nobody dared to come here, except for me and some other elves." "Is there anything about the witch you actually have told us?" Rebecca said grumpily. "Like I said: only a few elves dared to come here, so there's not a lot of information about her. I just remember that she disappeared for seemingly no reason." Jupiter said. "Everyone returned to the woods after that."
"Guys, stop. All we are doing here is confusing each other. We're going to Thoran now, give him the Love Potion cure, and find the Flame so we can save Y/N's friends." Loryn said. "You're right. Let's go."

After a few hours you arrived at the castle again. Loryn knocked on the door. "Thoran? Please open up... We need to talk."
Loryn's tall elf brother opened the door and frowned at his sister. "What."
"Drink this." Loryn said, holding out the bottle. "What is it?" "Just something to cure the headaches you've been having." "Oh. Thanks."
Thoran took a sip of the crystal bottle. He looked at Loryn, and you saw his purple eyes becoming their natural blue color. He embraced his little sister. "Thank you, Loryn." "It's alright" she smiled.

Finally the group was ready. You didn't see Katie again that day. The plans had all been made: 'we'll leave in the morning, find the Flame, and if we hurry we could be back before the end of the week'.

That same evening you fell asleep on a beautifully made wooden bed, which had the softest matress on it you had ever felt. As you closed your eyes, instead of everything becoming dark, you found yourself in a room. A very familiar one. The one you first met Dark in in the dream worlds. And there he was: in the corner of the room stood a handsome man in a suit, glitching uncontrollably. He looked up at you. "Y-Y/N? How are you here?" He said, staring at you, breathlessly staring up and down your body in surprise. You were speechless and ran up to him, arms immediatly wrapping around his neck. Dark hugged you back, burying his head in your neck. "This is just a dream, isn't it..." you asked him. He didn't answer, but just pulled back a bit and looked you in the eyes. "I don't care what it is. I'm just happy to see you again..."
With those words he closed the space between you two as your lips pressed together.

I'm starting to hate my own writing tbh. Oh well I'm going to finish off this book soon (if I can come up with a not-disappointing plot). I have some ideas for other fanfics so let me know what y'all want:
