You were all finally packed and ready to go, which meant it was time to leave the elf village. The unicorns made gracious steps towards the path that lead back out of the Canyon to the outside world, or in this case, island. It was going to be a long trip towards the Flame, but you were certain you'd make it. Mercy was the prettiest unicorn of all, with you proudly on her back. The sun was up, shining brightly and illuminating the landscape as the Companionship got out of the Canyon. You blinked a few times to get used to the bright sunlight. When you did, you saw the most beautiful landscape you had ever seen. You had ended up on a grass field, filled with the prettiest flowers and a few trees. Countless unicorns and other animals were calmly having a snack of the fruit and grass that grew everywhere. You and the rest of the group followed a dirt path through the fields, sometimes passing lakes and rivers.
After a few hours you arrived at a huge forest. "The Tumble Woods." Loryn said, before letting her unicorn slowly walk through the first trees. "Stay on the path and you'll be alright. The trip to the Woodland Castle will take a few hours." She added.
The first hour was easy, but after a while the path started getting more narrow and it was getting harder to think clearly. "That's an effect these woods have on you. They didn't get the nickname 'the Woods of Madness' for nothing." Loryn said, warning everyone.
Another hour later Charlie started talking about how tired and hungry he was. You had to admit, you were getting hungry too. A few meters away from the path was a plant that had some delicious looking fruits growing from it. "Charlie... Don't." You say, trying to warn him. "Picking some fruit never killed anyone..." he mumbled before getting off his unicorn and walking off the path, towards the plant. The group stopped, watching the scene unfold. "Charlie, I demand you to come back here right now. You'll get yourself killed!" Loryn said. Charlie, being the stubborn young man he was, didn't listen and picked a few of the fruits before walking back towards the group. "See? I'm fine." He said, but before he could get back on his unicorn something grabbed him from behind, dragging him backwards. "I told you..." Loryn mumbles, before getting off her unicorn and grabbing her bow and arrows. "Guys! Help me!" Charlie yelled panicked. The thing that had grabbed him was some sort of plant. A flesh eating one.
The plant was huge, grabbing Charlie by his arms and legs with it's tentacle- like... thingies... and slowly dragging him to the core of the monstrous thing. The plant closed it's, what were it, leaves?, around Charlie and within seconds the thing was filling itself with acid that would burn Charlie to death within minutes if he didn't get out soon. Loryn started shooting arrows at the plants tentacle thingies, but it was to no use. That's when Jupiter stepped forward. "Step aside m'lady, I'll show you how you do this!" He said, before running up one of the plant's tentacles and jumping right into it. "Yep, that was great, you genius!" Rebecca said sarcastically. "Shut up, I'm not done yet!" Jupiter yelled from inside the plant, that was still filling itself up with acid. "Hurry up!" Loryn yelled, now cheering Jupiter on. She didn't really have a choice, to be honest.
Inside the beast-plant thing, Jupiter was trying his hardest to use his arrows to stab the plant's core, that was at the bottom of the leaves. It was harder than he expected, as the acid was already burning his flesh and his whole body felt like it was on fire. He eventually managed to stab the plant, right in the middle of it's core, but nothing happened. That was, until the leaves around them finally started unfolding and the acid was streaming out.
Breathing heavily and their clothes still wet from the acid, Charlie and Jupiter were free.
"Get on some other clothes, boys..." Loryn said, clearly disappointed in Charlie. "Anything for you m'lady" Jupiter said before pulling off his shirt, revealing a muscular chest. "Jupiter, put on a different shirt and stop flirting with my fiancé." Jonathan said, annoyed. "I think I'm fine, thanks" Jupiter simply responded, before walking back to his unicorn. He smiled over at you before saying, "Adults, amirite?" and letting out a cute chuckle. "Totally." You laughed.
