Eighteen | Part Two.

"What do you mean you can't come? What's going on?" I asked worried.

"It's nothing to worry about." She replied softly.

"Oh."

"I'm sorry, I feel terrible, I know I said I would come but after everything that's happened my dad thinks it's best I stay away for awhile."

"Stay away from what?" I asked.

"Everything."

"Well your home right? Why don't I come see-"

"No!"

"Why not?"

"I'll just see you when I can, okay? Have fun tonight baby."

"Cail-"

The phone call ended.

"Everything alright?" My father asked as he walked up to me.

"I don't know, Cailin's not coming to the party tonight and she said not to worry."

"So don't worry, I'm sure everything's fine."

He was sure.

And I was sure.

At the party,

Things were going great.

Almost everyone you could name was here.

Even Selena.

Roller Coaster played in the background as people around danced.

'Happy Birthday.' Selena said cheerfully.

'Thank you.' I replied and took a seat next to her at the bar.

'Look Justin, it doesn't have to be like this between the two of us.'

'It's not.' I replied as I got up about to walk off.

'Justin-' She said as I looked at her and walked off.

'Shoutout to the birthday man, Justin! Happy 20th Birthday!'

Cailin.

I couldn't stop thinking about her.

I missed her.

I was worried.

I went outside to call her but she didn't pick up.

Eventually Ryan came outside.

'Hi, what's wrong?'

'Nothing.'

'Okay, now tell me honestly, what's wrong?'

'Cailin. She's not here and I think something's up.'

'She acting funny?'

'Yeah.'

'Maybe something happened in Paris she isn't telling you about.'

'You think so?'

'I mean what else could've happened?'

"Are you two gonna stay out here or come back to the party?' Za said coming out.

'We're coming, give us a minute.' I replied.

'What you two talking about?'

'Scooter trying to do the nae nae in there.'

I laughed.

'Alright let's go back.' Ryan said as we went back inside.

We danced.

Socialized.

I was having a great time, it was fun.

I wasn't worried for once in my life.

Everything seemed right.

I went back outside for awhile.

Of course the paps were there.

Security was taking care of it but the caught a couple of pictures of me.

'Justin, how's Cailin?'

'Justin, where is Cailin?'

'Did you guys break up?'

'Are you guys keeping it a secret that Cailin is in rehab?'

Rehab?

Why the fuck would Cailin be going to rehab?

'What type of boyfriend parties while his girlfriend is suffering from a recovery of a cocaine overuse in rehab?'

'She's not in rehab you fucking son of a bitch!' I replied back irritatingly.

'Pay attention to the headlines pretty boy, being an adult requires brains.'

'Say another fucking word one more time, I swear to-'

'Justin, go back inside.' The security ordered as I went back inside furiously.

I grabbed my phone and started typing fast across the keyboard texting Scott.

'Where is Cailin?'

'Why isn't she answering my calls?'

'Did you put her in rehab?'

'Scott'

I waited for a reply anxiously.

My phone vibrated,

I read;

'Leave it alone, Justin.'

Leave.

It.

Alone.

For a day that was going so well,

News like this ruined it all and makes me feel like shit.

I wasn't in the party mood.

I wanted to go home.

I walked over to my mom who was holding Jaxon as he laid his head on her shoulder.

'Hey, sweetie. What's up?'

'Call the party off, let's go home.'

'Are you sure?'

'Yes.' I replied firmly.
