Forty-Three (Continuation)

"Well... alright."
"Yay!" You squealed happily.
"So, it was our first date, the one I was refusing to go on for so long. He looked so nervous it was almost comical. We were just eating when he sort of turns pink and says, 'Listen, Evans, I know you think I'm lusting over you sometimes, or I'm obnoxious and don't care but the truth is... I really like you.' So I'm thinking, okay... sure. Then he's like, 'I know this is really premature, but I can't wait any longer. I love you, Lily. You may laugh at me or yell at me or think I don't mean it, but ever since I looked at you I knew.'
"Now I remember this word for word and I was so shocked. I didn't know James' feelings went that deep.
"So by this point I was blushing cause I didn't know what to say. What do oh say to that? I decided to tell the truth. I just sort of looked at him and told him I wasn't ready to feel like that. He told me to take as much time as I needed. On our one year anniversary two months ago, I just said 'I'm ready.' He didn't understand what I was talking about until I told him I loved him. (Y/N), I have never seen him so happy my entire life. He hugged me so much and didn't let go of my hand for the rest of the day."
You sighed, jealousy creeping into your brain. "You guys are way more romantic than us," you laughed, filled with envy.
"No! You two are perfect," Lily insisted, and you heard the flicker of jealousy in her tone.
"How about we both admit we have great boyfriends," you said simply.
"Deal," she grinned.
"Ladies," a voice was heard from behind you. You both froze.
"Hey Lils, (Y/N). What are you guys talking about?"
"Yeah, mind if we join you?" Sirius sat next to you, draping his arm across your shoulders. James took a seat next to Lily. You chanced a glance at her. Both suppressing giggles, you smiled at Sirius.
"Hey. Weren't you guys at Quidditch practice?"
"It's almost like you don't want to see me," he pouted.
"No! No, it's just..." you trailed off, looking to Lily for help.
"We were having girl time," Lily couldn't help it. She let a laugh slip. That was it. You both collapsed with giggles. You had never seen the boys more confused.
You wiped tears from your eyes.
"What the bloody hell has gotten into you two?" Sirius gaped.
"Is it something we said?" James looked to Sirius for confirmation.
"I don't think so..."
"No. You guys were brilliant," Lily covered her mouth, her cheeks flushed from laughing.
"I don't understand...?" Sirius trailed off his brows furrowed.
"Let's have it stay that way," you muttered, sending Lily into another bout of giggles.
"We'll be going now..." James said cautiously, leaving you and Lily to laugh together.
