*Note: Short but LOTS OF FLUFF!!

You walked into Potions and took your usual seat at the back of the room. You sat alone, which was fine by you. If you sat with someone, you were forced to work with them. You liked working individually. Having a partner meant you had someone else's slack to pick up. Being the smart one, you were usually stuck doing the whole project, while the other student got away with doing... well... nothing.
Anyway, the beginning of class went normally. You began to unpack your bag, when the unwelcome sound of a bag being placed next to you made you jump.
"Hey (Y/N)," Sirius Black grinned, somewhat nervously.
"Hi Sirius," you responded quietly, continuing to unpack your books.
He frowned.
"I noticed you sitting over here without a partner everyday. James decided to partner up with Lily, and Remus is with Peter, so I don't have a partner. I was think, maybe... well, you look lonely. Maybe you could use the company?"
"That's really sweet of you Sirius, but I actually enjoy working alone. It makes life a whole lot easier."
"Oh." His face fell. "Yeah, Yeah, you're right. Sorry. I'll just–"
"But you can stay!" You said quickly.
"Really?"
"Well, yeah. Sure. Why not?"
"Thanks."

Potions went rather smoothly. You and Sirius worked together seamlessly. What most surprised you was that he actually worked.
"Thanks," Sirius smiled at the end of class.
"Ditto," you returned his expression.

The next day, Sirius came to your table. You worked with him. It felt as though you were missing a piece the whole time, but you didn't realize until Sirius came along.
It went on the same way for months, until normal class was chatting about Quidditch or good bands with Sirius. You were actually quite similar, though he was so much more outspoken.
Then, one day, Sirius wasn't in class. Maybe he was sick, maybe he was skipping. It didn't matter. You were alone.

You unpacked your books and ingredients and started to make your potion, when footsteps were heard on the steps of the dungeon.
"Sorry I'm late, Professor!" Sirius rushed into the room, his hair windswept.
He handed the professor a slip of paper, excusing his lateness, and took a seat next to you. His seat next to you.
Everyone continued working.
"Sorry I'm late," he turned to you and smiled. "So-o... what'd I miss?"
You stared at him, then wrapped him in a bear hug.
"What was that for?" Sirius chuckled, his cheeks pink. You shrugged, your cheeks equally as flushed.
"I thought you weren't here. I missed you, I guess."
"I'm back," he grinned, taking out ingredients.
