"Hey? Hey, (Y/N)?"
"Hm? What's up?"
"D'you wanna go to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow?"
"Um... sure."

"Hogsmeade?" Your best friend Sirius Black grinned down at you.
"Can't. I'm going on a date."
His face fell.
"Hey, I'll meet you in the common room later. Cheer up!" You nudged him.
He smiled half-heartedly.
"Who asked you out?"
You rolled your eyes.
"Darren McLaggen. Should be interesting."
"Oh boy. He's rude. Really rude," Sirius warned.
You nodded, chuckling.

"Hey," Darren leered.
"Hey."
He opened the door, going inside and letting it shut behind him.
"Um...?" You stood in the frigid cold, glaring at the door.
You reopened the door, the warmth of the Three Broomsticks welcoming you inside.
Darren had turned around, an annoyed look on his face.
"Let's go!" He frowned.
You scoffed at his back and followed him to a table. He took the closest seat, and you stumbled around tables to the opposite chair.
"Do you know what you want?"
"Yeah, I'm just getting a butterbeer."
"Okay, let's go." He stood up, a pissed look on his face.
"I'm coming too?"
"Uh, yeah?"
You looked at him incredulously.
"Come on!"
You walked up to the bar and ordered.
"Do you have enough money to pay?" Darren asked.
Finally, he acted a tad bit like a gentleman.
"Yeah, I think-"
"Good, I only have enough for me."
You gaped at him.

You stormed back to the common room, absolutely furious.
Everyone immediately left the room.
You stalked around the the couches and chairs, fuming.
"I feel like any second you're gonna spit fire."
You whirled to see Sirius standing in the doorway to the boy's common room.
"Come any closer and I probably will," you snarled. He lifted his hands in surrender.
"Sorry. Do you wanna talk about it?"
You were quiet for a few seconds. Then, you burst.
"Sirius! It was a total disaster!"

You spent about an hour recounting the horrid events of the day. You ended up pacing around the room, stopping every so often by Sirius to emphasize what a prat Darren was. You had your hands on his biceps, shouting angrily.
"And then he has the nerve to say-!"
He kissed you.
Time stopped.
Sirius kissed you.
Time was nonexistent.
His lips left yours too soon.
Time began again.
You were both gasping for air.
"Did you just...?" Your cheeks flamed.
"Yup," Sirius looked shocked, a light dusting of pink across the upper part of his cheeks and nose.
"Um..."
"Do you want me to show you how a date's supposed to go?"
"Yes. Yes, please."

You went to the Three Broomsticks.
The first thing Sirius did for you was hold open the door. You walked in, waiting for him. He led you to a table and offered to order the drinks. You waited patiently for him to bring back two foaming mugs of Butterbeer. A young bartender, Madame Rosemerta, smiled at Sirius. He smiled back, then winked at you. You giggled softly.
He didn't ask if you had enough money. Instead, he grinned and said, "Drinks are on me."
You didn't even argue.
At the end of the day, you felt thoroughly exhausted, brimming with contention.
"So?" Sirius asked once you got back to the common room.
You curled into his warmth, both his arms around you, with his legs bent underneath yours. You wore his sweater, enjoying how it's too-big feel and the scent of Sirius.
"It was wonderful!"
"Then maybe... maybe, uh... you'll consider a second?"
You looked at him like he was crazy. He braced for a no.
"Oh course! It was fantastic!"
"No. You, (Y/N) (L/N), were fantastic. And you know what?

"So was I."
