(Request 2/3)It was a known fact.
You were born seeing black and white.
That is, until you saw your soulmate.
Your parents told you the story of when they both met. Your mother caught a glimpse of your father. He turned his head and suddenly... the world exploded with a new sensation.
Color.
Your parents were lucky, they both saw color at the same time.
Others... not so much.
Your aunt told you the story of when she met her soulmate. He caught her eye. They looked at each other and your aunt's face lit up. Only... his didn't. He looked away.
She was heartbroken.
For some people, it happened later in life.
Your grandfather spoke to you about first meeting your grandmother. There was no color, only a strong bond of friendship. Then, one day, he looked at her, and he knew. They both knew.
It happened very early in life for certain individuals, or very late for others.
You were seventeen and attending your last year at Hogwarts. You didn't couldn't see color yet. Two of your friends, James and Lily, could. When James first saw color, he couldn't stop taking about it. Lily was quiet. She didn't want anyone to know. When James found out she too saw color when they looked at each other, he was beyond overjoyed.
You couldn't wait until it was your turn."Oi! Let's go, we're gonna be late!" You grabbed Sirius's arm and tugged him along behind you.
Sirius was your closest friend. Even closer than Lily. You two did everything together.
"Alright! I'm coming, relax! It's just charms!"
"Yeah, but you've been tardy going on two and a half weeks! Flitwick'll have your head!"
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes, trudging alongside you. You elbowed him.
"What?" He gaped.
"You're an ass."
"That's true," he smirked. You rolled your eyes at him.
You got to Charms (on time, thankfully) and took your seat in the front of the room. Sirius sat directly behind you.
"Now, if you will open your books to page two-hundred and thirty-four, we will be going over..." you tuned Flitwick out. You always got excellent marks in his class, so you didn't really have to pay attention.
"(Y/N)!" Sirius whispered over your shoulder.
"Shh!" You hissed.
You felt something sharp poke your back.
"Ow!" Flitwick glared over at you.
"Sorry, that was my quill. My bad," Sirius covered for you.
"What do you want?" You muttered.
"I'm bored."
You scoffed.
"Miss (L/N), please!" Flitwick scolded.
"Sorry Professor!" You apologized.
"Hey (Y/N)," Sirius prodded you between the shoulder blades. You turned around to yell at him when it happened.
Color.
Your eyes met, and suddenly everything was beautiful.
Your eyes widened, attempting to take in the sensory overload. His eyes... they were the most gorgeous things you had ever seen. Your mouth was agape, your eyes darting around the classroom. You looked back at Sirius. You didn't know the names for color, but his hair looked the same as it did, black as the night sky. His skin tone was brighter with color than without. You couldn't get over his eyes. That was when you realized he was staring at you with the same awed expression.
"D-Do you see...?" His voice was barely a whisper.
You nodded slowly.
"Aha..." he laughed in disbelief.
Your lips turned up, and you found yourself giggling uncontrollably.
"Mister Black! Miss (L/N)! You two are too much of a disruption!" Flitwick squeaked angrily. "Both of you should report to the Headmaster's office immediately!"
You didn't stop staring at his eyes when you got up from your seat, nor when you walked out of the classroom.
"Are they okay?" Someone questions as you walked by.
Once you were in the hallway, Sirius grabbed your arms.
"You see them too, right? The colors?" He pressed anxiously.
"Yes! Yeah, I see them... bloody hell. They're gorgeous."
"Your eyes," you breathed in unison.
"They're beautiful," he gazed at you longingly.
"Everything's more beautiful with color," you felt your face heat up.
"Especially you," Sirius flushed. The light dusting of pink across his nose made your heart skip a beat. You didn't know colors could do that.
"This is... amazing." You ran a hand though your hair, unable to comprehend the wonders around you.
"I can't believe we're soulmates!" Sirius exclaimed.
"Me neither!" You grinned up at him. He flashed you a cheeky smirk.
"You're so..." you trailed off, unable to find the right word. His face paled.
"So what? Is it bad?" He looked panicked.
"No! No, not at all!" You laughed. He looked relieved. "You're... you're perfect."
"You are the most radiant thing I've ever seen in my life," Sirius tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. You blushed and glanced away, only to feel you eyes meet yet again. They were like beautiful magnets. You couldn't look away.
"This is the best day of my life," you took Sirius's hand.
"I second that."Hey guys i wrote this in the spam of like an hour so yeah
