(A/N: Okay, so I really liked aspects of the movie and the book for the Battle of Hogwarts, so don't get too mad at me when I attempted to combine them. This might be the least 'canon' type material, but it's mainly because I liked the first half of the battle in the movie and the last half in the book, and I feel like a lot of other people may feel very similar. Either way, you don't really have a choice; so read and enjoy ;). Oh and many of the quotes are coming directly from the book, because I couldn't really paraphrase a direct quote, so just know that (for copyright reasons) all quotes by characters come from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows.

I guess you could say what happened was slightly predictable. I mean... there were two opposing sides, fighting against each other; there had to be some kind of ending... but I guess as students, we never expected it to take place at our school.

As the end of April approached all my mind was focused on was figuring out what I wanted to do after I graduated and passed my O.W.L.s. My thoughts had drifted away from everything that was happening outside. I occasionally thought and spoke to Draco, but as the school year went on he became more and more detached from what was going on around him. It was clear that he was dealing with something big in his life, and the more I offered to help him the more he pushed me away. Typical of him, am I right?

The First of May 1998

Of course, I was sleeping. Like any other normal person would do on a Friday night. There were no celebrations of any sort anyways, so it wasn't like I could have been doing anything else... I think what really woke me up was the stirring of people coming from outside our dorm. I didn't remember the dream I was having, but I do remember fading softly into the real world. I opened my eyes and looked around. I couldn't see much because it was dark, but I could certainly hear something coming from outside.

"Lacey," I called out, but was met with no response. By the way my body felt, I could tell it wasn't late in the night. The noise became louder and louder to the point that I thought maybe it was the next day and I had simply not slept well.

It all seemed calm... until a Prefect walked into our room. She opened our door very loudly; her wand was lit and she pointed it into each of our faces. Her face was very serious, and she made was definitely making it her goal to wake us up. She succeeded.

"Get up ladies, and meet us in the common room. Move quickly," she demanded and left.

"What?" Aspect said drowsily as she rubbed her head. I didn't respond to her, but slung my sheets off the bed and began to follow the Prefect.

"Attie where are you going?" Lacey asked me. I tensed my hands and looked her direction.

"I'm following the Prefect! You should too, it's what she said!" I enunciated. Lacey looked confusedly towards me and made no effort to get out of the bed. I wasn't mad at her, but the seriousness of the Prefect worried me. I followed the crowd into the common room and found Slughorn in the mist of the chaos. He was telling everyone to quiet down, but wasn't succeeding.

"Quiet!" he boasted after he had cast a voice amplifying spell. The common room instantly lost its' noise and the rest of the students filed in; my roommates included, "Now, I need everyone to remain relatively calm, and follow me. Headmaster Snape has requested a school meeting... effective immediately," Slughorn continued, "If everyone could file into their block formations we shall be leaving very quickly. Please try to stay quiet, again, and professional..." he trailed and walked towards the exit of the common room.

People moved quickly and made the walking formations. I looked around and saw the fear and excitement on other students faces. What they were excited about... I couldn't tell, but I knew that I felt terrified. There weren't many things that would cause Headmaster Snape to call a meeting in the beginning of the night.
