hinata did not want to do this. of all things, his english teacher had the brilliant idea of contacting a school from another country and started this bullshit program of writing letters to a pen pal in english. and everyone knows hinata's english wasn't the best. and now he was stuck writing a letter. just great.

"shanz...?" he read the name off the paper.

"cheer up, shoyo!" a fellow classmate said, "it isn't that bad, right?"

hinata shook his head.

"it isn't that easy, you know," he said, "it's hard for me to write a sentence in proper english."

"you've got to write something, one way or another," the classmate said, sinking back into his seat to write his letter.

within thirty minutes, all hinata got on his paper was a simple "dear shanz". and the rest of it was blank.

"hey, isla?" the orangehead said, tapping the shoulder of the classmate sitting in front of him, "how did you write your letter?"

"i introduced myself to my pen pal and told them all sorts of things i like!" Isla answered with a smile, "and i asked questions about them, too!"

introducing himself? asking questions?

sure, he could do that.

grinning, shanz opened her letter very carefully. she knew most of the customs in japan due to her anime rampages and could not wait to read her letter from her japanese pen pal.

"what did your pen pal write?" qq asked as she peeked over shanz's shoulder.

"he's got kinda chicken scratch handwriting, but i understand what he's saying," shanz said, passing the letter over to qq to read.

dear shanz,

hi! my name is hinata shoyo! shoyo is my first name, and a few people call me by my first name! i'm a first year in high school, and i'm a middle blocker in my school's boys' volleyball team!

i have a little sister too! her name is natsu! do you have any younger siblings too?

oh yeah! do you play any sport? or do you have any interest in any sport?

uhh... i'm sorry if my letter is short! my english is pretty bad and i'm kinda bad at writing letters too.
