quirks. it was something that divided the world into two.

with eighty percent of the human population having something powerful within them that could save the world, it was common to see more and more heroes surfacing every day.

but the types of quirks were split into two.

some could kill easily, while others, not so much.

as for tea, she had those that could kill. her quirk was that of turning anything that she touched into something poisonous. also, she couldn't control it. that was why she wore gloves to cover her hands up. just in case she accidentally poisoned something or someone she touches.

she didn't tell anyone of her quirk. she never dared to, lest they leave her and would be scared to go close to her, even with her gloves on. this led many people into thinking she was quirkless.

akaashi's quirk was different. it didn't really kill anyone, unless he tried to. it was that of freezing. he could freeze anything that he touched, and he could control his power. unlike tea, he didn't need to wear anything to cover up his hands.

he was also someone that was curious about her. curious about why she would try and change the topic whenever the topic about quirks was brought up. curious about why she would not let anyone touch her hands.

why? was there something wrong with her quirk? was there something wrong with her hands?

"tea," he said as he stood in front of her while she was doodling away in her sketchbook.

"yes?" she said, adding the last few touches to her sketch before putting her sketchbook away to gaze into his blue eyes that she always got lost in and loved.

"what is your quirk, exactly?" he asked.

"um, it isn't something i would like to touch, actually..." she said, letting her voice trail off, "so anyway—"

"why? why are you wearing gloves?" he asked, "why do you never show, let alone use your quirk? what are you so afraid of?"

"keiji," she said in a voice that was soft but firm, "my quirk is dangerous. it kills instantly, and i don't ever plan of using it. ever."

"what is it in the first place?" he asked, his gaze locked onto her.

"poison," she said finally after a while of silence, "whatever i touch, i add poison to them. and i can't control it either, so i wear gloves. i'm afraid of people leaving me because of it."

she bore her eyes into his, continuing in a quavery voice, "tell me, keiji, won't you leave me because i have this power? aren't you afraid of it? won't you want to stay far away from me?"

"no," he answered, "i'm not afraid of you or your power. i'm your friend because i accept you for who you are. i'm not your friend because, oh, what, you seem quirkless. i accept you for who you are, tea, and nothing will ever change that."

it took a while for his message to register into her head. and when it did, she gave him a small smile and said, "thank you."

"and i bet you'll be able to control it too," he said, "so join me in u.a. when we graduate, so we can learn how to use our powers properly."

"i-i can try," she said, "no guarantee i can get in though—"

"you will be able to," he said, "believe in yourself."

"thank you, keiji," she said, "you're seriously one of the best friends i've ever had."
