Chapter 36

Imani's POV

It is now mid August. I went back to work cause I stayed off for like 2 weeks. Chris loved it cause he got breakfast every morning before work & a good nice treat before bed. Raymond mysteriously vanished & no one knows where he went, but I'm glad/ John has now taken his spot

"Good Morning Ms. Brown," John greeted me as he walked out his office

"Hello John, how are you today," I asked him

"Well, how bout yourself," he asked

"Excellent, but what happened to Raymond. I was ready to come back to work & have to fight," I smirked

"I don't know. The day after all that stuff happened someone came in for a meeting with him & next thing I now he resigned," he said

I hope Chris didn't have nothing to do with that

"Oh, good cause I was going to quiet after my little vacation. I guess I can stay not now we have a great manager," I said

"I try & I will do my best to make sure all my employees are taking care of & protected. So if you have a problem come see me cause you remind me of my daughter. I would kill somebody over her," John said

"I bet you would, but thanks John. I'll keep that in mind when I need help beating someone up & my boyfriend isn't around," I smiled

"Sure, I got a few guns at the house if you need a shooter. But I gotta get back to work, can't mess up as manager already & I just started," he said 

"Me also. I need to catch up on some paper work from those days I missed, so I'll be busy today," I said

We parted ways I went straight to work. I was so consumed with it all I lost track of time until somebody knocked on my door

"Who is it," I asked

"Delivery for Imani Monet Brown," the person outside said

I wasn't expecting anything so I was shocked but when I opened to door it my babe Chris with a bouquet of roses and some chipotle cause he know that's my spot for lunch

"Why couldn't you just say it was you, trying to change your voice," I asked him taking the roses out his hands

"I got you though. Maybe I should have changed & dressed up like a real delivery boy. But who is the chick at the front desk. She got some big ass titties," Chris said coming in sitting in my chair getting comfortable putting his feet on my desk

"Get slapped if you want to, & get yo feet on my desk with them dirty ass shoes," I said shutting my office door & putting the roses on the desk. I don't know how he got up here. He probably lied & said he had an appointment with someone 

"I just brought you roses & food. I deserve to put my feet on the desk cause this the only relaxation I'm gone get today. Plus my shoes are not dirty. I just bought these the other day" he said opening my lunch she supposedly bout me

"Today is Monday, you don't have work so you can relax all day. I thought you brought me food, so why are you eating it. I don't care if you just bought them shoes. You still walked outside in them. And thanks for the flowers they are beautiful," I said him looking at him take a bite of my burrito

"I didn't relax cause I was cleaning. My family is coming in to town today & you know they don't stay at hotels so they will be at my crib. But we're not cause I'm staying at yo house. You're welcome for the flowers babe you deserve them" he said biting my burrito again
