Chapter 52

A week has passed since Chris & Imani went to see his dad. He is home from the hospital & he's trying to fight it once again. They are taking it day by day. Imani went to work & got a surprise

Imani's POV

"Imani, we have a new worker. She will be sitting with you. Can show her the ropes until we get her office together," John said & it was none other than Shaye. My boo got the job

"OMG, Shaye, why didn't you tell me you got the job," I said getting up

"I wanted to surprise you," she said smiling. I know we haven't been talking but that's still my bitch. We have disagreement like sisters then make up

"You two already know each other," John asked

"Yea, this was the friend I put a word in for & told you she had an interview but I didn't tell you her name," I said

"Oh, well great you two will work well together then. Let me know it ya'll need anything. I'll be in my office," he said leaving out

"Bitch why didn't you tell me," I said sitting back in my seat

"I haven't talked to you in about 2 weeks," Shaye said sitting in the other chair

"I know with yo phony ass," I joked rolling my eyes at her

"Girl bye never that. The phone works both ways. But I will say I'm sorry for acting like I did that day," she said

"You're good. Chris & I talked & we made up," I told her

"I figured ya'll did when you texted me back saying ya'll had to make a trip to New Orleans. How is Mr. Woods," she asked

"I mean the doctors say its not looking good. He's in good spirit though. They're just taking it one day at a time & enjoying him as if it was his last. It is hard cause they don't know what's gone happen," I told her

"That's sad, but you're supposed to be training me so train me," she said pulling her chair closer to me

"Girl bye, you will learn, its not that hard," I told her sitting back down eating my banana. I usually don't eat these but I had a weird craving for one this morning

I was showing her the basic stuff then it was time for lunch. John said we could take one together. I had a doctor's appointment that I made from being sick all week

"I got a doctor's appointment. So I can't go to no sit down restaurant. I gotta get something quick," I told her

"What's wrong with you," she asked

"I need a checkup. To see why I been sick lately. I swear I've had a something virus for a week. I gotta make sure it ain't nothing serious. You wanna come" I said getting my purse

"Yup, but we at least gotta stop at Chick-Fil- A, something," she said

"Order us some Chinese food & we can pick it up on the way. I got a taste for some shrimp fried rice & an egg roll, 2," I said

"That's why yo ass gaining weight," she said popping my butt before walking out & her hips almost knocked me over

We picked up our food on the way to my appointment. Since it wasn't too far we were there a little early so I had time to eat at least some of my food. It was so good too. I can't wait to get back in the car & finish it. Hopefully I don't throw it back up. We went in & signed in at the front desk. Eventually they called me back. I let Shaye nosey ass come back too
