"Angela sure is weird today." I said to Allan, who's still busy hurrying up.
"Hey, can you slow down a little bit, Allan?"
"We gotta hurry up man! Paolo's in trouble!" Allan darted right back at me.
"Oh, alright." I quickened my pace. "But wait, what kind of trouble?"
"I'll tell when we get there! now speed up before Jenny sees us!" Allan commanded.
Sheeesh. Why does Jenny even have to not see this?
"Alright. But can I ask why Jenny can't see this?" I said as we turned to one corner, past the science hall.
"Shh. Just follow me." He quietly assured.
Fine. I won't be asking again. Besides. It's Paolo. What trouble could he possibly gotten into this time? Yeah, he' s smart and all, but his big , muscular plexes and six pack abs are always attracting fights more than girls. Fortunately, he's a master taekwon and pretty much all of his opponents out there only knows street fighting techniques so he can handle them, one kick at a time. So if Allan is requesting for help then... he's in major trouble.
"Hey, by the way Allan, " I asked.
"Yeah?" He replied.
"Angela sure is weird today. "
"Dude, can you please focus on Paolo right now? I promise I'll help you with Angela after." He assured.
"She'll be falling right out of your hands in no time." He winked. " Now come on!"
"No! That's not what I meant!-"
I stopped talking when he opened a door that was supposed to be the new music room.
There I saw Paolo first before I noticed the improved wood furnishings of the floor to the yellowish walls of the hall, complete with posters and music charts with basic chord charts and musical intonations... well, not to mention the instruments lying around - all brand new. I think there still a handful of instruments that were not even used even once! I'm excited to try them all out...
...If I havent heard Paolo crying.
Paolo, crying in public. It's like I saw my dad cry for the first time. He's a strong, positive figure. To see him like this, its not even really qualified to be in my dreams...
but it's happening right now.
"Damn dude! I can't stand to see you cry! You're a bass player for crying out loud!!" Allan screamed at Paolo.
"Uhh..." I butted in. " I'm the bass player."
"Eh, sorry." Allan apologized to me.
"SEE? Even I get confused on what your role in the band is! Get yourself together!" Allan said.
"B-but.." Paolo tried to speak, but his tears overcame his voice. the streams of tears just kept falling.
"I-I dont even know..."
He tried to speak but instead, he cried more than he can speak.
I sat beside him and for the first time, I tried to tap his shoulder.
"Dude. It's alright. Just tell me what happened." I tried to calm him down.
"I-It's Yuki, She... she broke up with me. "He mumbled, tears still falling.
"What! I thought you're doing fine! I mean, those sweet, intoxicating love notes..." I surprisedly asked.
"Heh, don't let Jenny know about this one though, Pao. " Allan advised.
Paolo chuckled "Yeah dudes."
Allan followed. "She's just a girl dude. Let her go."
"No! She's not just a girl! She's... She's Yuki Morimoto!" Paolo darted back.
"Yeah. She's pretty famous alright. You know..."
"NO! She's Yuki, the one who gave my life purpose! She's the one who set my heart with direction! She finally led me to understand why love is such a good thing and why it is worthwhile!"
He stood up. "Do you think I care if she's pretty , or she's famous? Do you think I care if she loves books or she doesn't want nightclubs or if she's an introvert? NO! I don't even fucking care whoever she is or whoever she might really turn out to be or whoever she might be in the future, NO!"
His strength faded away after he burst out his last set of tears.
"All I freakin care about is that she loved me for who I am! And finally, there's someone out there who can love me for who I freakin really am!" He let out his final cry.
"And now... and now... I've. .. I've...."
He let out an infinite drop of tears once again. "I've lost it."
We both sat beside him to comfort him.
"Come on dude..."
"I'm so stupid. I ... I.... failed her. "
Seeing Allan so hopeless made it worse.
"Man. You know what, I can offer you lots of advices but. For now, just cry it out." Allan said calmly.
"You, you think its gonna work?" Paolo reassured.
"Yeah. Look at me. I'm a product of months of crying over my first love." He claimed.
Wow. You became a womanizer after becoming a crybaby. That is so unexpected, Allan.
"Bitches, man." He claimed. "There are lots of em. Don't let them rule you. Cry it all out."
Then he stood.
"One day, you'll understand. You don't need to love much. That's a girl's job. You just have to enjoy the time you had together. You're the man."
"Uhhh...Ain't that a bit one-sided, Allan? " I commented.
"Yeah. Suppose so. But it's better than nothing :D " He cooly replied.
"You know what, I eat ice cream when I'm sad. You should, too. " Allan suggested to Paolo.
"I'll, " Paolo replied after he wiped his last tear of the day. "I'll try one.".
