"Dammit, Jake, it's too big! It won't fit!" I cried out.

"Shush. It'll fit. I know it will. If it doesn't, I'll just have to make it fit," Jake replied.

I whimpered. "Jake, it hurts so freakin' much! Just get over the fact that it won't fit!"

"It will!"

"No it won't! Just take it out!"

"Um..." Anthony's voice came from the bedroom door. Jake and I turned to look at Anthony, who had a confused, grossed out expression on his face. "We could hear you guys from down the hall. What's going on in here?"

I blushed, pushing Jake away from me. "No! It's not what you think!"

"Are you sure? 'Cause it sure sounds like it," Anthony said, raising his eyebrows at us.

"I swear. We're just doing a bet." I told him.

"Why?"

"Because," Jake said, sighing, "We're bored."

Anthony looked at both of us. "And the bet is?"

I looked at Jake, stifling a smile. I sure didn't want to explain this bet.

"Well, we tied our hands together," Jake started off, holding up our joint hands. My right hand and his left hand were tied together with a piece of rope.

"Why?"

"We told you, we were bored." Jake said.

Anthony looked very confused. "Wait, what?"

I sighed. "I'll explain it. Okay, so Jake and I were talking about what would be worse- losing an arm or losing a leg. Then, Jake told me that if we were to both lose an arm, he would handle better than me. But, we all know that that's not true, so I told him that I would handle it better.

"So Jake found a piece of rope, tied us together, and we made a bet on who could last longer. Whoever gives up and cuts the rope off first loses, and has to pay for our next date to the movies," I finished, laughing.

Jake took over. "After I tied our hands together, though, we realized that Lex still had her cast on. Which meant that she couldn't really do anything. But she doesn't want to cut it off, 'cause that would mean that she lost, and she would pay for our date. So she's having me do everything for her- which isn't fair, I'm just sayin'."

"Okay..." Anthony said, nodding. "I get it now, but what were you guys doing before I came here?"

"Oh," Jake laughed, "I was helping Lex put on some shoes."

"But, apparently, these shoes are too small for me," I grumbled.

Anthony nodded again. "Makes sense now. Lex, shouldn't you just cut the rope?"

I shook my head stubbornly. "No."

"But if you're having Jake do everything for you, then what's the point?"

"I'm not staying tied like this for me. I wanna see how long Jake can last. Which, now that I think about it, is actually kind of for me," I said, smirking.

Jake looked at me smugly. "I can last as long as this rope is on my hand."

I nodded. "We'll just have to see if your bark is as big as your bite."

"I'm losing either way, Lex," Jake grumbled.

I laughed. "Fine, fine. This is more like a... test than a bet. We're not betting anymore."
