"Days like this I want to drive away-ay! Pack my bags and watch your shadow fa-ade." Katy Perry's 'Part of Me' blasted from my iPhone, which was attached to its speakers at the moment.
I was looking for something it wear, while singing and 'dancing' along to the song. My dancing was basically just jumping and spinning around. Jake told me that we were going out today, but no matter how much I asked, he wouldn't tell me. All he had told me was to wear something comfy.
"You chewed me up and spit me out, like I was poison in your mouth. You took my light, you drained me down. But that was then and this is now! Now look at me!" I sang, still looking for a good outfit.
"This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me! No! This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me! No! Throw your sticks and stones, throw your bombs and blows, but you're not gonna break my so-oul! This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me! No- OOF!"
I had been twirling around in a circle, since I couldn't find anything it wear. It had been entertaining- until my foot caught on my other ankle, making me slam to the ground. I giggled, picking myself up.
"Well that was stupid," I said to myself. I turned and noticed Jake was leaning on my door frame. I blushed, realizing that he saw me fall.
He raised his eyebrows. "What'cha doing?"
"Um... nothing?" I tried to act like nothing happened.
"Uh-huh, sure, Lex. Don't pretend like you weren't singing along and jumping around. And not to mention your spectacular spinning." Jake said, grinning cheekily.
My mouth dropped open, eyes widening. "I- I... No, I... I wasn't..."
Jake laughed as I turned beet red. He walked over and sat on my bed.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Aren't you gonna continue your show?"
I looked at him. "Are you crazy?"
Jake pouted. "I wanted to watch some more."
"Yeah, well, tough nuggets, buddy."
"Tough nuggets?"
I grinned. "That's what I said, isn't it?"
"You're one weird girl, Lex. Really weird." Jake muttered, shaking his head as he got up from my bed and walked out of my room. "Hurry up," he said over his shoulder, "We'll be leaving in a couple of minutes."
I groaned. "But I don't know what to wear!"
"I suggest clothes. But I won't complain if you go without them," Jake called out.
"Ew! Gross, Jake!"
Jake's laughter rang throughout the hallway.
After a few more minutes, I was finally ready to go. I was wearing a pair of light washed denim shorts; I had a practically endless supply of denim shorts. I had on a cream-ish colored pullover, with sleeves that were 3/4 length, that had 'Love is Beautiful' written on it over a white tank top. I pulled on some light green H&M shoes to complete the look.
I grabbed my sunglasses and bag from the top of my dresser and went downstairs. Jake was sitting on the kitchen table, waiting for me. When he saw me come down, he hopped off of the counter, grinning at me.
