"Are you gonna come down with us or stay in the car?" Jake asked me. My side of the car's door was open and Jake was standing right in front of me, holding Ashtin against his chest.

"I wanna go..." I said.

"Is there a 'but'?" Jake asked, amused.

I nodded. "But I'm lazy..." I whined.

Jake chuckled. "Okay, fine. Just stay in the car and-"

"No!" I jumped out of the car. Closing the door, I followed Jake and stepped inside the vet's office, while Jake held the door open for me.

"Isn't this worth getting out of the house?" Jake asked, laughter in his eyes.

"No..." I told him seriously. "I want to go back home and never go out again."

Jake laughed. "What about the trip to L.A.?"

I shrugged. "Eh, I most likely won't feel like this when the time comes."

Jake shook his head, going up the the desk to sign up for our assigned appointment. As he was signing up, I sat down, looking around the waiting room. There were birds, dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, even an iguana. I curious, yet frightened, to know what the iguana would be coming to the vet for.

Jake sat down on the empty seat next to me, still petting Ashtin. "Anything up?"

I turned to look at Jake, who was watching me. I smiled. "Nothing's up."

"Really? 'Cause you had a frown on your face when I came."

"Oh," Now I knew what Jake was talking about. "Look, there's an iguana." I nodded to where it was, in its cage.

"Yeah?" Jake asked.

"I wonder why it's here..." I trailed off.

Jake looked at me. "Really? You were really thinking that?"

I nodded, laughing.

"Oh, Lex," Jake shook his head.

Someone tapped my shoulder. I looked over to see who had tapped my shoulder- it was an elderly lady sitting next to me. She had a Golden Retriever on a leash, which was laying on the ground near her feet.

"Excuse me, but did you tap my shoulder?" I asked her politely.

She leaned closer to me, cupping her mouth with her hands, whispering in my ear, "You and that young man over there seem really happy. I hope your marriage is going well."

My eyes widened. She thought Jake and I were married! "Oh, no it's not what-"

Suddenly, a name was called and the elderly lady got up, her Golden Retriever followed. Before she left, she winked at me and walked into the office.

I stared at her- even as the door closed behind her- my mouth open.

"What's wrong?" Jake asked, looking at me worriedly.

"Did you see that elderly lady that was just called?"

Jake nodded his head. "Yeah."

"She told me that we looked happy, and that she hopes our marriage goes well," I told Jake.

Jake stared at me, then burst out laughing. Putting his arm on the back of my hair, he leaned in and whispered to me, "I always knew that we would make a good married couple."
