"WHAT?!" Jake and I both yelled into the phone.

"Crap, you guys, I think you just broke my eardrum!" Nicole yelled back.

"Woah, woah, hold up. What did you just say?" I asked.

"I said, crap, you guys-"

"No! Before that!" Jake said.

"Oh, do you guys want to come to California with me?" Nicole asked, again.

"What?" Jake said again.

I, on the other hand, said at the exact same time, "How?"

"What?" Nicole sounded confused. "I didn't understand you guys."

"How?" I said.

"It's kinda like my birthday party," Nicole told me.

I frowned. "Wait, didn't you already have a party?"

"Well, actually we threw that party for Nicole. She didn't know about it." Jake told me.

"Right," I said, snapping my fingers.

"So how come you're having a party in California?" Jake asked.

Nicole laughed. "I'm not actually having a party, well, not really. I'm visiting some cousins in L.A., and, as a birthday present, my parents said that you guys could come! Everyone else can come, what about you guys?"

"I'm all up for it," I said, grinning. I looked over at Jake, who had a, somewhat, identical grin on his face.

"Count me in," Jake told Nicole.

Nicole squealed. "Yay! Lex, we have to go to the mall with the girls tomorrow. So don't make any plans!"

Before I could even say 'okay', Nicole hung up.

Jake sighed.

I turned to him, my eyebrows raised. "What?"

"I was planning on taking you on a date tomorrow," Jake replied.

I laughed. "You mean another date?"

Jake nodded, grinning sheepishly.

"Don't worry," I patted Jake's shoulder, "we can go sightseeing in California!"

"Yeah, but not alone," Jake said in a 'duh' voice.

"So?" I asked, too excited to care. "Sightseeing is still sightseeing!"

 Jake laughed.

"What?" I asked Jake, again,

"You know, you've basically been sightseeing these past few days," Jake told me.

"Well, yeah, but it's not like I'm gonna be visiting places in L.A. again and again, like Zoo Miami or the beach."

"Well-"

"Yeah, yeah," I waved Jake off.

Jake laughed, flipping through channels. "So what good shows are there to watch right now?"

"What about 1000 Ways to Die?"

Jake passed that.

"Cupcake Wars?' I suggested.

Jake passed that.

"Pretty Little Liars?"

Jake passed that.
