I woke up, feeling refreshed. Stretching, I glanced at the clock next to my bed.

"1:30?!" I gasped, jumping out of bed. I took a quick shower and changed into light blue denim shorts, a pale over-sized tank top that said 'Today's Outfit', and a black tank top underneath. When I got to the kitchen, I found Jake there- just chilling.

"Jake!" I exclaimed. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You were sleeping so soundly, though; I did't want to wake you up," Jake replied innocently.

I grumbled, "Great. I slept through half of the day."

Jake tousled my hair. "It's alright. We'll just have a lazy day today. Got any good movies?"

"Do you like 'Beastly'?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

Jake groaned. "That's a girly movie!"

"Finding Nemo?"

"Classic, but no, not today."

"What about I Am Number Four?"

"No."

"Inception?"

"No."

"Then how about-"

"Wait, yes."

"Yes?" I asked, confused. "Yes what?"

"Let's watch Inception!"

"Sure, but I wanna eat lunch first. You wanna make me something?" I smiled sweetly, looking at Jake with wide eyes.

Sighing, Jake agreed. "What do you want?"

"Um... Can you make mashed potatoes?" I asked.

Jake nodded. After watching Jake mash the potatoes and cook them, my mind wandered off. The next thing I know, Jake was setting a plate down in front of me- full of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Sitting down next to me, Jake had a plate filled with the same food.

I raised my eyebrows. "Mac and cheese?"

Jake nodded. "Trust me, my mac and cheese is beast."

I tasted the mac and cheese. My eyes widened. "It's good!" I exclaimed.

Laughing, Jake bumped my shoulder. "Told ya! Not to sound conceited or anything, but I'm a pretty good cook."

I nodded, smiling. "That's not conceited all at!"

"I know, right?"

"Jake, I was being sarcastic."

"Oh. Well, then, so was I."

I laughed.

"So, Lex," Jake began.

"So, Jake," I mocked him, grinning.

Jake mock-glared at me. "What's your favorite... kids show?"

"Kids show?" I repeated.

"Yeah, like, Disney channel or Nickelodeon, channels like those."

"Oh, then, 'Austin & Ally', from Disney channel!"

Jake furrowed his brow. "Why?"

I grinned. "Ross Lynch is pretty hot!"

"Wow..." Jake shook his head.

"What about you, what's your favorite kids show?" I asked.

"'Pair of Kings'," Jake replied.

"That show about the two boys that rule an island, on Disney?" I asked.

Jake nodded.

"Why?"

Jake laughed. "That show's actually pretty funny."

"Reeeally?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

Nodding, Jake moved on to the next question he had. "How good are you in school?"

"Straight As, one of the top ten in my old school."

"Top ten? Not number one?" Jake teased.

"Eh," I shrugged, "I also have other... activities that I focus on."

Jake nodded. "Like basketball?"

"And volleyball. How're you in school?"

"You know, As most of the time, except for that one B once in a while."

"Jake, Jake," I shook my head mockingly.

"What subject are you the best at?"

"Either math or literature. Literature because I actually like it, and math because it comes naturally to me, for some reason. I swear, though, you can catch me falling asleep most of the time during math. You?"

"Gym," Jake grinned. "Or chemistry, I'm kind of a science nerd."

I pictured Jake in a lab coat, wearing those science glasses. I started laughing at the image in my head; I could see Jake as a poindexter. Jake shook his head, probably guessing what I was thinking.

"Now, it's my turn to ask the questions now," I declared. "Coke or Pepsi?"

"Coke, you?"

"Coke, but if you give me Pepsi, I won't really care."

"Pepsi's alright, I guess," Jake shrugged.

I laughed, "Yeah, sure. Now, let's play a game."

"Weren't we already playing a game?" Jake asked, smirking.

"Well, let's play a different game."

"What's the game?"

"Would you rather. I'll go first!" I thought for a moment, "Would you rather: be the funniest person ever, or be the most beautiful person ever?"

"Funniest, you?"

"I guess I'd pick funniest. Who needs to be beautiful anyways?" I joked.

Jake muttered something- I didn't really catch it, but I thought I heard something like, 'You're already beautiful.'

"What?" I asked, curious of what he really said.

"Nothing," Jake replied quickly, blushing a little. "My turn, right? Ok... Would you rather: have X-ray vision or have the ability to fly?"

"I'd rather have the ability to fly, you?"

"Same." Jake nodded.

"Um... Would you rather have ten wishes- but you can't wish for money or more wishes- or have a hundred billion dollars?" I asked.

Jake thought for a moment. "Have ten wishes, you?"

"I think I'd have to go with a hundred billion dollars," I grinned. "What would you wish for that you can't buy with money?" I asked Jake.

Jake just asked the next question, without answering me. "Would you rather..." He paused, leaving a dramatic silence. For some reason, I had the feeling that he was going to ask me something unusual, or something.

Jake took a deep breath, and let it out. "Would you rather," Jake repeated, "go out with me, on an actual date, tonight- or just stay home, as friends?"

There it was, I thought. I was right, he was going to ask an unusual question- now how was I going to answer it?

After thinking about it for a moment, I took the risk; putting our two day friendship on the line. "Yes," I nodded, smiling.

"Yes?" Jake asked.

"Yes," I repeated, "I will go on a date with you, tonight- an actual date."

Jake grinned. I felt excited too- heck, I was about to burst with happiness. Hopefully, though, it doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.
