"Hey Margot."

Jude's voice came through the phone and I bit my lip, smiling to myself.

"Hi," I replied, pushing my hair behind my ear.

"Listen, I was, um, just wondering if maybe you would like to grab some coffee. With me. Unless you don't want to. Then that's cool too," he said nervously.

I chuckled at his nervousness. "I'd love to, Jude," I replied.

"Wait, really?" he asked, and I laughed.

"Yes really. Why would I lie?"

"I don't know, you're just...never mind. I'll pick you up in like, fifteen minutes?"

I smiled, and felt my cheeks burning even though no one was there to see. Coffee. With a guy. It's been a while.

"Perfect. See you then," I replied gleefully.

"Alright cool. Bye," he said, and the line went dead.

A date. A date with a boy. A date with a boy who's not Shawn. Damn.

I mean, it's not a date, really. Just two friends hanging out. Without Remi around.

I examined myself in the mirror. I was wearing light wash denim shorts, a navy Ivory Ella t-shirt, and my usual white Converse. My hair was in its natural loose waves, and my makeup was minimal.

I patiently and anxiously waited for his arrival, nervously fidgeting as I always. Shawn would have told me that it stressed him out seeing me so anxious, but that he also thought my nervous energy was cute.

I miss him.

"Hey Margot."

Jude was standing at the door in front of me, a happy smile on his lips. I grinned just seeing it.

I closed the front door behind me as Jude greeted me. He was wearing a t-shirt that said UNM Basketball on the front and Thompson #7 on the back and a black hat.

"Morning," I replied in a happy tone.

I smiled again and he did as well, and the two of us headed towards his car and got in.

"You're a coffee person, right?" he asked, looking over at me as he started the car.

"Of course. I couldn't live without it," I answered.

"Just making sure. I didn't want to ask you to get coffee and then find out you don't like it or something," he said.

"Well, you're in luck. I'm an addict," I told him with a smile.
