"I think James is nice."
"Yeah, but there are so many "James's" out there. I know like...twenty-five of them. How about...Theodore?"
"Theodore's kind of cute, actually. Except for the chipmunk."
"The what?"
"The chipmunk, Shawn. Do you know anything?"
"Apparently not. I just thought it'd be cute if we called him Theo."
"Yeah, it would. What about...August? And we could call him Auggie for short."
"That's cute. August is a great month, too."
"Yeah, I know. How about...Reece?"
"Isn't that a girl's name?"
"It's both."
"Maybe for a girl, not feeling it for a boy."
"I still like Gabriella."
"We both know exactly why you like that name. We already agreed that we are not naming our child after anyone from High School Musical."
"Okay then, you suggest something."
"I'm critiquing your suggestions."
"We're getting nowhere."
"Suggest better names, then."
She laughed, making me laugh too. "You're a bit of jerk."
"I know," I said, looking over at her and smiling. "You know, we should probably get up some time today."
She quickly shook her head at the words "get up," and pulled the covers over her head.
"It's a no from me," she said, her voice muffled.
I chuckled. "You're such a child."
"But you love me anyways?" she said, sticking her head out of the covers and pouting. I gave her a quick kiss.
"Don't make me cringe," I replied, making her laugh. That laugh was sort of the reason that I did everything.
"You know, we could just lay here all day. The three of us," she said, looking down at her stomach where there was a very visible bump. It's really cool to wake up, look at your wife, and remember that you're going to have a baby. It's like when we first got married, whenever I woke up, I would look at her and remember that she was my wife now and get this really good feeling. It's like that, but better.
"How productive of us," I replied with a smile.
"Okay, why don't we just choose a name that's never been done before?" she said, ignoring me and going back to our previous conversation.
"Like?"
She made a face as if she was thinking. "Like...well, I actually don't know."
"Good contribution," I said.
"Says you."
"Says you!"
We both laughed, and she rested her head on my chest, making me wonder if I should get out of bed today. I mean, look at this. Does it get better?
"We just know way too many people to name a baby. Whichever name we choose, we're going to know someone with that name, ya know?" she said, and I nodded.
