"You're crazy, Margot," Shawn said, but he couldn't keep himself from smiling.

I grinned, stepping a few inches closer to the stage entrance. I had his hand in mine, pulling him along with me. "Come on. Can you think of a better way to end the show? Because I can't."

He shook his head again. "I came to watch, Margot. Not to sing."

I let out a frustrated sigh. "So you're telling me you don't want to go out there and sing the final song with me, your amazing girlfriend? Because I find that extremely hard to believe."

He looked at the ground, then out at the crowd. "I can't just go out there and sing with you. We haven't even talked about it or —"

"We're talking about it now. Me, you, Mercy."

He didn't say anything; he just continued to avoid my eyes.

"Come on, Shawn. I know you know the words," I said, elbowing him softly. He laughed.

"Fine. Fine, you got me. Let's go sing," he said, and I laughed in accomplishment.

"This is going to be so fun," I told him, and he smiled.

When I was back on stage alone, I sat at the piano and the crowd quieted down. When it comes to Mercy, I'd always liked the acoustic piano version better than the original. Even though the original is obviously amazing too. I just think the acoustic really brings out the story of the song and highlights his voice even better.

I don't know though, call me crazy.

I saw Shawn still standing backstage, just shaking his head as he smiled at me. I smiled to myself and looked down at the piano keys. I had learned to play this song so long ago because I literally adore it. It makes me love Shawn even more.

"The last song I'll be singing is really important to me because someone really important to me wrote it. I hope you like it," I said into the microphone, looking back at Shawn. He mouthed I love you, and I grinned.

"You've got a hold on me
Don't even know your power
I stand a hundred feet
But I fall when I'm around ya
Show me an open door
And you go and slam it on me
I can't take anymore."

I stopped playing and singing, and looked up at him as he walked onto the stage. Obviously, the crowd went insane upon seeing him. My heart went a bit crazy as well.

"I'm saying, baby..." he began, grinning at me. I smiled back and held the pause out just a bit longer, for effect, then began to play again. He seemed to read me like a book, and it was as if we had practiced this a hundred times.

"Please have mercy on me
Take it easy on my heart
Even though you don't mean to hurt me
You keep tearing me apart
Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart?
Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart?"

He sat on the piano bench next to me and kept looking at me as he sang in my ear. I almost laughed.

"I'd drive through the night
Just to be near you, baby
Heart open, testify
Tell me that I'm not crazy
I'm not asking for a lot
Just that you're honest with me
And my pride, is all I got."

He stood up, smiling as he looked at the crowd and then back at me. He held the microphone up to sing again, and I grinned. It's rare to see him without a guitar, but when he is, it's fun to see him just be himself out there without the crutch of the guitar to hide behind.
