Rory and Jess had both been back to work, Jess as manager of a book publishing company, and Rory starting training at a newspaper. She was slowly working her way up; this was her dream job. They'd also found an amazing daycare, Learning Path, where the kids were watched while they worked. Haeven loved her, and the twins did too.

"Rory, come here." Jess called from downstairs.

"Just a minute." Rory was getting ready for the day. She headed down to see Jess holding something behind his back and had a giant smile.

"Rory, my love." Jess took one hand from behind his back and grabbed her hand. "For your thirty fourth birthday, I have very special plans." He held out a wrapped gift.

"But my birthday isn't in till October 8th. That's next week..."

"Just open it."

Rory did as told and began opening the gift; she pulled out a teal and peach colored floral bikini. "Aw, Jess. It's pretty. Thank you."

"Do you like it?" Jess asked, condescendingly.

"I love it."

"Well, good because you're gonna need it in Bora Bora."

"What?" Rory looked shocked.

"We're going to Bora Bora, I got two tickets here." Jess pulled a card from the table.

Rory jumped into Jess's arms. "Oh my gosh, Jess you are the best. I love you so much."

This is the reason Jess did all of this, he loved to see his wife so happy.

Rory had a second thought. "What about the ki-"

Jess stopped her. "Lorelai and Luke were more than happy to watch them. Listen, Rory. We're going for two weeks and all it's going to be is us. No worries about the kids, work, nothing."

Rory hugged Jess again. "This is going to be so much fun."

"We leave in two days. Follow me." Jess grabbed her hand.

They walked into the guest room and Rory saw a floral dress that matched her swimsuit and some Michael Kors flip flops. "Jess!"

"Damn, I love spoiling you." Jess kissed her cheek. "You're the best wife and mom."

"And you're the best hubby and dad."

Jess picked up Rory. "Want some pre-island action?" He winked.

"Do I ever!" Rory squealed.

"So, I heard that husband of yours is taking you to Bora Bora." Lorelai exclaimed over the phone.

"I am so lucky. Jess is the best."

She couldn't see it, but knew her mother was smiling. "You really are. I'm so glad you two are together."

"Me to. Thanks for watching the kids, by the way."

"Oh, it's no problem. I enjoy being a grandma so much." Lorelai meant this in every possible way. Seeing these kids grow up made her heart so happy.
