When Lorelai awoke and felt the sheets next to her, she was startled at the emptiness.

"Luke?" She questioned, rising up from the soft bed and heading down the stairs where she heard a slight rustling.

Luke was getting some Christmas decorations put up around the house. "Good morning."

"Morning." Lorelai checked her phone. "It's 7:45; it's pre-coffee hour."

"I thought there was never too early of a time for coffee."

"Ding ding ding! Where is it?"

Luke jokingly rolled his eyes and went to the kitchen to pour the drink he knew Lorelai would want.

"So, anything special today?" Lorelai asked, hinting at the very special occasion; it was their one year anniversary.

"What do you mean?" Luke asked.

Lorelai furrowed her brow. Does he not know? She thought. "Never mind." She dismissed the subject.

"Anyway, why don't you come help me with these decorations?" He scooted a box over to her. "Maybe put the ornaments on the tree."

Lorelai sighed in disappointment.

"What's up, Scrooge?"

"Nothing." Lorelai said, sharply. "I'll put 'em up."

"Gramma and Grampa need this." Haeven said as she handed Rory a CD of Kenny G.

Rory held back a laugh. "Why would they need this?"

"Jazz." Was Haeven's only reply.

"What the heck?" Rory was doubling over in laughter.

"Gramma said she loves Jazz." Haeven said, not realizing that anything was funny but started to laugh anyway because her mom looked funny.

"You're so funny, baby girl." Rory bought the CD and a bunch of old movies that she knew Lorelai loved.

Lorelai sat watching television, wondering why Luke hadn't remembered their anniversary. She grabbed a book and tried to put the thought out of her mind. He has a lot of things on his mind, I guess.

"Lorelai?" Luke asked when he walked into the house after finishing putting up lights outside.

"Hmm?"

"Shouldn't you be at work?"

Lorelai sighed. "It's Sunday..."

"And?" Luke furrowed his brow.

"I haven't worked on a Sunday for 2 years."

Luke shrugged. "Oh, right. Sorry." He walked off as if nothing different has occurred.

"The hell..." Lorelai said under her breath. She put her book on the table and walked out of the house.

"I just can't believe it, Rory." Lorelai said.

"I'm sure Luke didn't mean to forget your anniversary." Rory comforted. "You know he loves you and would never do anything to hurt you."

"I know." Lorelai rolled her eyes. "I'm just upset, that's all."

"I know." Rory gave her mom a hug. "Love you but I gotta go pick up Haeven from daycare. Meet up for lunch tomorrow?"

"The Cats in the Cradle and the Silver Spoon..." Lorelai put on a fake frown.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Rory smiled and left.
