"Are you still mad at Scott?" I sink into the desk next to Stiles'.
"Yep," he answers coldly.
"You know it's not his fault," I say. Stiles doesn't answer. "Now, you're mad at me, too," I sigh. I'm not entirely sure why Stiles is mad at Scott. I know it has something to do with his dad getting hurt. All Stiles told me yesterday was that he heard about Scott saving Allison from being hit by a car, but Sheriff Stilinski still got backed into.
Scott walks in and I watch him walk past Stiles. He sits down.
"Still not talking to me?" Scott asks. "Okay, can you at least tell me if your dad's okay? I mean, it's just a bruise, right? Some soft tissue damage?"
Stiles shoves his tongue into his cheek angrily. He ignored my brother all of yesterday and whenever I brought up Scott, he ignored me too. We both figured it'd blow over by now.
"Nothing that big?" Scott sounds hopeful. "You know I feel really bad about it, right?"
Stiles still ignores him. I shove my fingernail into the fraying corner of my textbook. When Stiles ignores me, I just let him, but when he ignores Scott, Scott keeps pushing.
"Okay," Scott sighs. "What if I told you that I'm trying to figure this whole thing out and that I went to Derek for help?"
"If I was talking to you, I'd say that you're an idiot for trusting him," Stiles seethes. Scott's eyebrows shoot up. "But, obviously I'm not talking to you."
The bell rings, but I don't take my eyes off of them. Scott reaches down and shuffles through his backpack and Stiles leans forward. He's fighting the urge to do something. Hopefully, it's talk to us.
Stiles turns quickly and sighs. "What did he say?"
Scott smiles triumphantly.
