"Stiles, we've been driving around the hospital for ten minutes. They're not coming out," I say. My eyes still watch the door every time it comes into view, and I keep an eye on Derek's car in the parking lot. Neither Derek nor Peter have surfaced yet. "We should go to your game." I remember Derek's snarling face when he told me to go, and I cringe inside.

"We can't just leave Derek by himself," Stiles argues.

"Well, no offense to you or anything, but there's not very much you can do to help them, and I can barely keep a conversation right now, let alone send Peter back with some sort of magic forcefield again, so ..." I look out the window so that I don't have to see Stiles' face.

"Yeah, well -" Stiles pulls out his phone and looks at the time. "I'm willing to bet the game is already over. So, now what?"

"You missed your game?" I ask. Stiles sticks his tongue in his cheek, but doesn't say anything. He just stares straight ahead. "Fine, but we're still going to go to the school."

"Derek -"

"Look, when Derek said to go, he wasn't saying it so that we'd leave and be safe," I tell Stiles. "He was saying it so that we'd leave and not know what he was about to do." Stiles opens his mouth to say something, but I cut him off instead. "That's a psychic feeling, not an Emerson feeling."

"Okay." Stiles stops the Jeep, annoyed. "We'll get to the school then."

He turns around and starts driving in the other direction.
