||Phil's POV|| -Principle's Office-

Now that the three of us are cleaned up and feeling a little less shitty, we're all seated in the principle's office. I have always been a relatively good kid and personally this is my first time getting sent to the principle. The past week has held a lot of firsts. First kiss with a boy, first fight, and now this.

I'm holding Dan's hand as he fidgets in his seat nervously. The principle walks in and sits at his desk, looking at us strictly. "Boys.. Now, I am used to seeing Daniel in this position, and Sam as well. So please tell me why you are involved this time Phil."

"Well I-"

"Because he wanted to defend him." Sam sneers, glaring at Dan and I.

"Was I speaking to you Mr. Pepper?"

"No." He answers quickly, sitting up straight.

"Exactly. Okay, boys, let's start this from the beginning. Why did this start?" He says calmly and no one speaks up, too afraid of where to begin. "Okay.." He nods, drawling out the word. "Daniel, why don't you tell me how this happened?"

"Uhm.. Well, S-Sam doesn't particularly like me very much.. I guess he sees a problem with my very existence. He was just expressing that to me this morning sir." He mutters nervously, but adorably formally.

"You know how we deal with violence at this school." He says and the two other boys nod, seeming to be in this situation before. "Now, I should suspend all three of you, but as we know this situation is different." He looks over the three of us, shaking his head. "Okay, How'd you get involved Phil?"

"Well Sam was beating up Dan and I just wasn't going to sit there and watch like everyone else. One thing led to another and.. yeah."

"You two are friends then?"

"Uhm, yeah." I nod, looking to Dan and he smiles sightly.

"Okay. Heres what I'm going to do." He says looking directly at Sam. "If I see you picking on either of these two, you will be expelled. It's been too long. You seem to have a long record of bullying and if this continues I will have no other choice.. Do you understand me?"

"Yes sir." He nods furiously.

"Now come by my office after school and get your detention slip. I'll be calling your mother."

"Okay."

"You're dismissed, go back to class."

"Thank you." Sam says, rushing out of the room with his things. The principle looks back at the two of us before meeting eyes with Dan.

"Daniel, I can tell you're the victim in this situation, so you won't be getting a detention. I do have to speak to you about a few things though. You keep coming to school beat up.. Is everything alright at home?"

"Uhm.." Dan stutters, squeezing my hand tightly. "I guess.."

"Should I call your father and speak to him about it? He is the sheriff."

"No!" He shouts quickly, before looking down. "I mean, uh, that's not necessary."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Positive." He says, clearly bluffing. The principle looks at him skeptically before nodding.

"Alright, but if you ever need anything, let me know. If Sam bothers either of you again, don't hesitate to tell the school."

"Okay." We say in unison, nodding.

"And as for you Phil, I'm going to let this one go. You've got a clean record, I'm being very generous. Don't make me regret it."

"I won't. Thank you sir." I nod, my heart pounding.

"I'll be calling both of your parents, to let them know this happened."

"Please don't." Dan says quickly, biting his lip nervously.

"I'm sorry, it's mandatory if something like this happens." He says not worrying too much, probably thinking Dan will just get grounded or something. I look over at him and I can see the tears building in his eyes.

"Y-You don't understand.. You c-can't." He stutters and I can tell his mind is already racing.

"We'll make sure to say you we're the victim, and that you aren't in any trouble."

"N-No. It won't make a difference. Please don't." He begs and this time I can see the principle's expression change. As if he noticed what he was getting at.

"Okay. I won't call your father. But I'm sending both of you home."

"If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you send Sam home?" I ask softly.

"Well, I'm trying to be nice. You two look like you need it."

"Thank you sir." I say, actually glad I don't have to return to school.

"Thanks." Dan mumbles.

"Daniel, how are you getting home today?"

"I.."

"I'll drive him." I butt in, smiling at Dan as he looks at me questioningly.

"Okay. Go home. Get some rest. Tomorrows a new day." He says as we get up and walk out.

"You wanna hang out at my house for a bit?" I ask and he just nods, grabbing my hand as we walk to the car.

"Thanks Phil.." He whispers timidly.

"No problem Angel." I say, squeezing his hand softly.
