Thirty five hours later, they arrived in Seattle, Washington.

"That was the longest bus ride I have ever been on," Luke said as he dragged his suitcase across the hall and into the room he was sharing with Ashton, who was sitting by the window staring down at the sparkling water below. "I agree, Lukey. By the way, I'm glad we were able to stay in the same room together this time."

Luke sighed. "It wasn't my choice, I can definitely tell you that. If management hadn't of already had this all planned out I would go to the office right now and demand I get my own room."

Ashton ignored him and pulled out his phone. "Cody just texted me and said he, Austin, Colin, Dimitri, and Christian are downstairs waiting for us whenever we get through unpacking."

"I don't understand why he just can't wait until tomorrow to go surfing," Luke muttered. "Has he forgotten we just got done with a thirty-hour bus ride? I'm exhausted, and I'm sure the others are too." He shook his head and started pulling out clothes from his suitcase and putting them into the large closet by the door. "Are Michael and Calum going with us to California, or not?"

"No," Ashton replied. "They told me they were going with Tom to some kind of swimming event a few towns over."

Luke nodded and grabbed his sunglasses from on top of the television. "I guess we better go ahead downstairs and get this beach trip over with."

Ashton smiled and followed Luke to the main lobby, where Cody and the others were standing by the door. They quietly walked outside into the main parking lot and over to a shiny black Suburban, where they climbed inside and started the drive to California.

When they arrived, Cody excitedly opened the back of the van and grabbed two surfboards. One was blue with the Australian flag painted on the front, while the other was black with yellow stripes. "Austin and I are the only surfers, so I figured I'd only bring two boards," Cody explained when he saw the confused expressions the others were giving him. "Sorry." Once he had put on his wetsuit he and Austin ran towards the crowded beach and the crashing waves of the Pacific. Luke and Ashton put down a towel near the water while Colin, Christian, and Dimitri sat at a picnic table a few feet away.

"You've never been surfing before, right, Ash?" Luke asked, breaking the silence.

Ashton started laughing. "No, and I never will. There's too many dangerous sharks and jellyfish in the ocean for me to even think about surfing. What about you?"

"No. Surfing isn't really my thing." Luke replied, leaning back on the towel and putting his hands behind his head. "but I love the beach. It's so beautiful here, with so many amazing sights."

"You got that right," Ashton whispered, looking down at him. When Luke opened his eyes and saw that he was staring at him, he suddenly stood up and started to walk away. "Wait a second, Lukey," Ashton called after him. "What happened? Where are you going?"

Luke rubbed his eyes. "You're what happened, Ash. Haven't I told you a million times that I don't like it when you look at me like that? It makes me uncomfortable. Of course, here lately, everything you do makes me uncomfortable."

Ashton sighed. "I'm sorry, okay? I just can't help the way I feel about you."

"Stop right there," Luke said angrily. "Just stop while you're ahead, Irwin. I've already punched you in the face twice, don't make me do it a third time." He shook his head, but reluctantly sat back down. "Can we please just change the subject?"
