When I opened my eyes the next morning I was surprised to find Luke still laying beside me. I was surprised; normally he was already dressed and ready long before I even woke up. “Goodmorning, sunshine.” he said once he noticed that I was awake, leaning over to brush his lips against mine.
“Goodmorning, Lukey,” I gently caressed his cheek with my hand, simply because I still felt the urge to touch him. “What do we have planned for today?”
“Nothing until this afternoon.” There was a mischievous smile on his face that made my heart beat faster, and when his eyes met mine there was a sort of desire in them that mirrored exactly how I felt last night—and continued to feel this morning. It was obvious by the way that he kissed me, even longer and harder than before, that he wanted me as much as I wanted him. I tangled my fingers in his hair while my other hand remained on his chest, and both of his arms were on either side of my head, pinning me down so that I couldn’t move even if I wanted to. Soon our bodies were pressed even closer together, so much so that there wasn’t an inch of us that wasn’t touching in some way. My pulse was quickening and my breath was getting shorter by the minute, but I didn’t care. His lips just felt so good against mine that I didn’t want to pull away anytime soon, no matter how dizzy I was becoming.
Luke was the first to pull away after a few more seconds, and I involuntarily whined at the loss of contact. “Sorry, Ash,” he said apologetically. “but even us vampires need to breathe sometimes.” I rolled my eyes, even though I too was struggling to catch my breath, and impatiently waited for him to kiss me again. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait too much longer until his lips were on mine once more, and I sighed contentedly.
“You know what,” he said between kisses. “You, Ashton Irwin, have to be the most beautiful person I have ever laid eyes on.”
“No, you are,” I said quickly. It was the truth—Luke was way more gorgeous than I was. His hair, his eyes, his lip ring, those incredibly long legs…everything about him was just downright sexy. I was average compared to him, but it still made me feel special that he thought otherwise. I was about to say something else, but soon found myself at a loss for words when his lips moved to my neck, leaving a trail of tender kisses along my shoulder. I had been dreaming and fantasizing over what this moment with him would feel like for almost three years now, and now that it was happening it was even better and more perfect than I ever could have imagined.
We stayed like that most of the morning, just being completely intertwined and getting so caught up in each other, and I can honestly say those few hours were the best of my life. That’s why I was surprised when there was a knock on the door—I guess being with Luke made me temporarily forget that people other than him existed on this Earth. I quickly stood up and slipped on his shirt, simply because it was the closest one to me. I had no clue where mine had disappeared too, and I didn’t bother with searching through the pile of clothes on the floor for it.
Once I reached the door and eased it open, I was surprised to find Michael standing there with an unreadable expression on his face. “Something’s happened. You need to come downstairs.”
I started laughing, at the time not realizing just how serious the situation was. “I’m not even fully dressed yet, Mikey. Can’t we talk about it here?”
“We could, but the others are already downstairs waiting. Get dressed as quickly as you can and meet me downstairs.” With that said he turned away, leaving me standing there in disbelief.
“Is he acting strange or is it just me?” Luke asked, standing up from the bed and walking over to me.
“It’s Michael, he’s always strange.” I grabbed my normal attire of ripped jeans and a black shirt from the top of my suitcase and put them on as quickly as I could, not even bothering to run a comb through my hair like I usually did. I knew it looked bad simply because I knew how much Luke had ran his fingers through it earlier, but I could’ve cared less. I was too curious to see what exactly Michael was talking about to take the time to make myself look presentable.
