*Ashton’s POV*
I had only intended on resting my eyes, but I must’ve fallen asleep instead because the next time I looked out of the relatively large window in the corner it was pitch black outside.

I sat up, expecting to see everyone in the same positions as they had been when my eyes had closed, but instead found the room empty except for Luke, who was staring blankly up at the television. When he noticed I was awake he looked down at me and smiled, and I couldn’t help but do the same. “I would say good morning, but it’s currently eleven-thirty at night. How did you sleep?”

“As good as I can in a place like this,” I replied, leaning forwards ever so slightly so that I could press my lips against his forehead. “Where are the others?”

“Colin’s gone to call Dan and Shay and see if he can recruit them into helping us deal with Ariana again, Michael’s gone to the cafeteria, Austin took Camila back to the hotel, and I have no honest clue where Cody is. He kind of just disappeared an hour ago and I haven’t seen him since.” Luke answered. He was silent for a few more moments before speaking up again, and I could tell by the way he was nervously picking at his lip ring that he wasn’t quite sure how to word his next statement. “I think Lauren set us up earlier, Ash.”

I started laughing in spite of myself. “Of course she did, Lukey. How’d you figure it out, by the way she was driving like a maniac or by the fact that she ‘accidentally’ took a wrong turn that led into a dark alleyway where two cars coincidentally smashed into us not ten seconds later?”

Luke lightly hit my shoulder and picked up the remote that was positioned on the small table next to the couch we were sitting on. “I know, I’m kind of late at realizing things like this in case you haven’t noticed.”
“I’ve noticed,” I was about to kiss him again, but all of a sudden the door opened and a tall guy that couldn’t have been more than a couple of years older than Luke and I stepped in, wearing a white doctor’s uniform. “Are you friends of Mr. Hood?” he asked, speaking slowly and with authority.

I nodded and stood up, outstretching my hand to him. “Yes, we are. I’m Ashton Irwin, and this is my boyfriend Luke Hemmings. We’re Calum’s band mates.” I know he probably didn’t need to know all of the information that I had just told him, but instead of complaining like most people would do he smiled warmly. “Nice to meet you two. I’m Dr. Toby Cavanaugh, and I’m the lead surgeon and doctor here at this hospital. I’d advise you two to sit down, as I have some news about your friend’s condition.”

“Hold on a second,” I said, walking towards the door. “I need to go find Michael. He’s Calum’s boyfriend and he needs to be in here when you tell us this.” With that said I quickly stepped out into the hallway, looking around to get a sense of my surroundings before running towards the sign reading ‘hospital cafeteria’.

I got lost a couple of times before I finally found him, but soon Michael and I were making our way back towards the same waiting room where I found Luke and the doctor standing in the same spot that I had left them in. “Okay. Now you can tell us whatever you need to, Dr. Cavanaugh.”
