*Luke's POV*

The rest of that day and evening passed by uneventfully and quickly, and soon it was the next morning. Thanks to Ashton's arms being wrapped protectively around me I was able to sleep throughout the night, and I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to face the day. As I turned over and glanced at the alarm clock on the wooden table I was shocked to find it was already ten-thirty--I rarely ever slept this late.

I stood up and walked to the window, pulling the curtains back so the sun could brighten up our dark room, and was surprised to see Ashton sitting outside on the balcony.

"Hello sunshine," I said once I had opened the screen door and stepped out into the Florida heat. "What are you doing out here?"

"It was just such a beautiful morning that I decided to come sit out here," Ashton replied, standing up and kissing me softly before sitting back down and motioning for me to do the same. "So I was thinking about what we should do today since we don't have any concerts or interviews planned, and since the sun is shining so beautifully and it's not raining for once I think we should ride down to Daytona Beach. What do you say, Lukey?"

I smiled, my good mood increasing. "I say that sounds like a perfect plan, but we probably need to leave now. It's already after ten-thirty, and I know Daytona's at least a two hour drive from here, considering the traffic and all."

Ashton nodded and stood back up, holding the door open for me as we made our way inside. It didn't take long for us to take a shower and get dressed-we wore basically the same outfit every day so it's not like we had to spend time deciding what to wear-and so soon I found myself walking down another flight of stairs that led to the parking lot. We had been advised by the hotel staff to take a back exit simply because of all the fans waiting out front, and so I was surprised to see two shadowed figures standing at the base of the stairs, since I didn't think anyone else was allowed to use this exit.

Once we reached them I started to push Ashton behind me protectively, but stopped when I realized the shadowed figures were just Michael and Calum. "Hey guys," Ash said cheerfully. "What are you boys doing down here?"

"We need to talk." Michael said simply, a strange tone to his voice and an unreadable expression on his face. "Come with us." Both he and Calum started walking forward at the same time, but Ashton and I remained where we were. "We don't have time to come with you two. We're on our way to the beach, and we probably should've left an hour ago as it is. We'll talk to you when we get back, okay?"

Michael rolled his eyes. "You're going to come with us whether you like it or not." He grabbed my arm and pushed me forward, ignoring my protests, and led me to a small room at the end of a hallway that I didn't know existed. I was even more confused than before, and so before I sat down in an extremely uncomfortable plastic chair I turned to Ashton. "What's going on?"

"I have no clue," he whispered back. "I hope whatever it is doesn't take long, though."

I was about to say something, but stopped when I noticed Michael and Calum were now sitting behind a wooden desk that had been apparently moved from somewhere else. Their arms were crossed and they were staring at us with such stern expressions on their faces that they looked more like forty-year old lawyers than eighteen-year old teenagers in a punk rock band. "We've brought you here because there's a situation that we need to discuss."

"You can stop talking like that now, Mikey," Calum laughed. "just because we were sent here by management doesn't mean you have to talk just like them."
