Kim Jaehwan - Why?

I heard the bell ring and snapped out of my thoughts. I went downstairs and saw Minhyun and Jaehwan. They both glanced in my direction. I avoided eye contact and went into my class.

I sat down in my seat and stared at the window. Class started but all I could think about was the confessions I got from my best friends. The bell rang to signal the end of the school. I grabbed my bag and walked out of school.

As I was nearing the bus stop, Jaehwan and Minhyun came over to me and smiled as if nothing happened. I just put on a smile and greeted them. "Hey guys. Ready to go home?"

Minhyun nodded but Jaehwan shook his head. "Sorry, I have to head somewhere real quick. You guys go ahed, my dad's picking me up later. See you tomorrow!" I looked at Jaehwan run down the road and looked at Minhyun. "Can you go home without me today? I need to talk to Jaehwan.."

Minhyun nodded and saw the bus coming. I smiled and ran after him while Minhyun stared at the back of my frights, realizing that he lost.

I kept running after Jaehwan when I saw him enter a cafe. I entered as well and looked around. It was spacious and had a stage at the corner of the room. A sign read "Live Music Every Night". I looked around for Jaehwan but lost him. I decided to sit down and order a hot chocolate.

As I was drinking my drink, I heard music playing. I saw someone on the stage getting ready to play, with their back facing me. As the figure turned around, I noticed it was Jaehwan. My eyes widened as he started playing.

Everyone was captivated by his voice. I was too as I just stared at him. Jaehwan seemed to notice I was there and sent a wink to me. The women in the room all swooned but I knew he sent it to me. What felt like minutes turned into hours and before I knew it, it was almost midnight.

I checked my phone and saw 50 missed calls from my mom. I groaned "I'm going to be dead when I get home." I looked around for Jaehwan and saw him coming of the stage. He made his way before me and smiled. "So, why'd you come (Y/N)? Did something happen?"

I shook my head "I just wanted to see what you do every Tuesday and I guess I found out. This place is amazing. But I'm probably going to be grounded until I'm 30 because I missed curfew."

Jaehwan laughed and gestured to the door to leave but someone stopped us. A young lady came up to Jaehwan with a book. "Hello, I'm a big fan. I see you every Tuesday and I was wondering if I could get your phone number? And if you want to go on a date?"

After she said that, I felt my heart break a bit. I looked away and just left the girl and Jaehwan to talk. Jaehwan noticed and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. He pulled me in closer and smiled at the girl. "Sorry, I don't think my girlfriend would enjoy that. Thanks for coming out though! Bye"

My eyes widened as Jaehwan pulled me away from the girl who was left in disbelief. I looked over at him and punched his arm. He winced in pain and looked at me. "Yah, what was that for? Why did you call me your girlfriend?"

Jaehwan smiled and kissed my cheeks quickly. "Like is said earlier, I like you and I'm not going to date anyone else f it's not you. Now...race you to your house" Jaehwan broke in a dash, leaving me with a red face. I snapped out of it and realized how far he went. "Yah! Are you a kid!?" I chased after him until we got to my house.

I got to my front steps and Jaehwan was already there. I rolled my eyes as he smiled at me. "(Y/N), would you like to go on a date with me?" He sprung the question so quickly that I just avoided it. I nervously laughed it off and made my way to the front door "If I'm allowed outside. Remember, I passed my curfew."

Jaehwan grabbed my shoulders and brought me into a back hug. "That's okay. Even listening to music in the school garden is fine. So, will you?"
I slowly nodded and smiled. "I wouldn't like anything more" Jaehwan smiled as he let me go inside. Once I did, I was scolded badly by my parents, but all I thought about was what song I should listen to with Jaehwan the next day.
