Lee Daehwi - Wallflower

It wasn't until..

I sighed looking at the time. 10 pm. And yet the nothing has changed; people are still dancing, some are drunk and others finally left for the night. Except me. "Why did Jawahir have to be my ride..?" I looked around and saw my closest friend, Daehwi on the far corner of the party, keeping to himself. I smiled to myself as I watched him from afar.

Daehwi has been my friend since we were in kindergarten. I've known him all my life and I know everything about him, like how quiet he is. Likewise, Daehwi knows almost everything little thing about me. And we've always had that kind of relationship. But lately, some part of me wanted something more than friends.

I smiled to myself at the thought of our friendship, but sighed as it was still just a friendship. "You okay (Y/N)? You look like you're not enjoying yourself.." I looked to my side and saw Daehwi pop up out of nowhere.

My eyes widened as I stepped back in shock. "YAH! WHY ARE YOU POPPING UP SO LIKE THAT?" I heard him laugh as I sulked. "It's not funny.. I almost had a heart attack. Daehwi nodded as he handed me a piece of paper. "Well I found this note with your name on it. Don't know who it's from." As Daehwi handed me the note, I saw him vanish to again. I rolled my eyes as I read the note.

Dear (Y/N),
Hehe! You must be surprised. Don't worry, I'll reveal myself soon. Just head over to the punch bowl.

I knitted my eyebrows in confusion, but just laughed at writer's little game
I made my way to the punch table and looked around for another note. Once I couldn't find one, I picked up a cup to pour punch in when I saw a piece of paper in it. I picked it up and smiled as I read the second note.

Ah-hah!
I see you found the other note. Don't worry, only one more left head up to the balcony. P.S, I know they'll be an amazing view up there. Oh and the stars.

I blushed a bit at the note but made my way up to the balcony. I was empty but decorated with small flowers. I saw the final note in a pot of flowers.

I smiled to myself as I turned around . My eyes widened at the what was in front of me. Daehwi was standing behind me with a single red rose in his hand. "(Y/N), we've been friends for what seems like forever. But I want and need more. I want you. This may seem like a cheesy confession, but I'm willing to embarrass myself if it means I can be with you. So.. will you accept a flower from a love-stricken wallflower?"

I just smiled, tears about it come out of my eyes. I grabbed his collar and kissed him like I've always wanted to. After a while, we broke the kiss. "You don't have to worry about that Daehwi.. I like you just the way you age, wallflower and all. This is the best night of my life.
Daehwi smiled and pecked my cheek once more. "So is that a yes?" I nodded and we walked downstairs, hand in hand and our hearts intertwined.
