Kang Daniel - Nerd

It wasn't until..

I saw the school flirt, Jihoon with his friend Seongwoo. We made eye contact as he winked at me. I smiled nervously like an idiot as he made his way towards me.

"Hey (Y/N).. I thought you said you weren't going to come." I nodded and looked away as I took another sip from my punch. "Well, you know how Jawahir is.. she gets what she wants and she wanted me to come to this party badly.But..."

Jihoon furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he looked at me. "Why, what is it? Is there something in my teeth? I told Seongwoo I didn't want to have that candy.." I shook my head as I graced my fingers on the rims of his ulzzang glasses.

"What's with your costume? Glasses, full buttoned up shirt, suspenders and Oxfords? What are you..?" Jihoon laughed as he pulled his suspenders. "I'm a nerd! Duh!"

I looked him up in down as I sighed in disappointment. I saw another person from my class, Daniel, looking at Jihoon and I. He hung his head low as he moved to another spot of the party. I realized that this was what Daniel wore on a day to day basis.

I looked back at Jihoon who was smiling at me. "Sooo.. (Y/N), I was wondering if you would wanna go out on a date with me?" I looked at Jihoon, my eyes filled with rage as I slapped him. Everyone in the party stopped and looked at us.

"Are you that shallow? Or is your ego that big for you to realize what you're doing? Why would I go on a date with an egotistic, dumb bully like you? Go find someone else who would be interested.. maybe even no one..."

In the moment, out of anger, Jihoon pushed me down to the hard wood floor. People around me went to help me up as Jihoon scoffed. "Fine! I didn't even like you in the first place! Why would I date an ugly freak like you?" I watched as Jihoon left the party with his friends.

As I was getting up, I saw a hand extended out in front of me. I looked up and saw Daniel awkwardly smiling at me. I smiled back as I took his hand and stood up.

"Are you okay?" I nodded as Daniel's face of concern turned into one of relief. "Thank goodness... I, uh.. heard everything you said and I want to say, thank you for defending me... you're the first to do that.."

I frowned as I touched Daniel's shoulder. " You don't have to thank me.. I should be apologizing to you.. for letting this end later than it should've.. I've never seen you with anyone.. are any of your friends here?" Daniel looked down as he shook his head.
"I don't have any friends... most people tend to stay away from unpopular people.."

I shook my head as I smiled at Daniel. "Hey, you a new friend now.." I held my hand out for a handshake as Daniel looked up. "My Name is (Y/N), I like watching movies, eating and I read a lot it fan fiction. Don't judge me. How about you?"

Daniel laughed as he took my hand in his. He shook my hand as he introduced himself. "My Name is Kang Daniel, I like to read, watch movies and   Um...dance.."

My eyes lit up as he said Dance. "That's so cool!! You have to show me some time!" Daniel nodded as he smiled back at me. "How about over coffee? Tomorrow?"

I nodded as I slightly nudged him. "Tomorrow it is..."
