Hwang Minhyun - Vampire Prince

It wasn't until..

I saw my school's 'eye-candy', Hwang Minhyun. He was dressed in all black, just like me. I saw Jawahir walking towards me. She glanced over to where I was looking and smiled.

"Hey, you're matching with Minhyun! Now that's something.." she leaned in closer to whisper something else. "Don't you have a crush on him?"

I felt my face become hotter as I drank my punch. "It's not really a crush.. more like an interest in a guy that goes to our school who has the looks of a Kpop idol.." I looked over at Jawahir who was raising her eyebrows while I sighed in defeat.

"Oh who the hell am I kidding!? I have a crush on him.. but what's the point? So does every other girl.. what makes me any different..?" I looked over at Jawahir. She shrugged her shoulders as she drank her punch.

"Listen (Y/N).. I'm not the type to give peppy, cliche talks so I'll just cut to the chase. You are YOU! And that technically makes you different than any other girl in this room. If you want to be even more unique, go talk to him! Be the one to start the convo, and don't wait for him. Because if you really like him, then you won't be afraid to talk to him, right?"

I nodded as I gave her a quick hug. "Thank you.. I needed a reality check.. now, time to go talk to him.." I grabbed my cup of punch and made my way over to Minhyun, who was leaning against a wall, at the side of the room.

He noticed my presence and sent me a smile as I took a deep breath. "Hey.. I'm (Y/N).. you may not know me but I'm in-.." I was cut off by Minhyun

"You're in my English class.. (Y/N), right?" I nodded as my smile grew a bit bigger. "So, how do you like the party so far? It's a bit boring for me right now." Minhyun laughed a bit as he smiled back in agreement. "Yeah, the music choice is pretty bad. But hey, you saved me from boredom with this conversation.."

What felt like hours were only a few mere minutes talking with Minhyun, yet in those few minutes, we became a bit closer as people.

Minhyun saw my costume and smiled. "You're a vampire too? That's so cool! I thought no one was going to dress up like one considering they're the generic Halloween costume." I nodded as I looked down at my outfit.

"My friend picked it out for me. It's apparently based off some legend she read on the internet" Minhyun paused for a minute before laughing. I looked at him unsure of what I said as he continued.

"I'm dressed up like the Vampire Prince from that legend. I really like it, kinda cute but a bit too cheesy for me. But I do like this.." I saw as Minhyun took out a necklace with a moon and star pendant on it.

"This came with the costume. It's nice but I think it'll look better on you than me. Here.." I moved my hair out of the way as Minhyun put the necklace on me. I smiled as I admired the necklace. "What is this legend anyways? I'm intrigued by it..". Minhyun pointed at the necklace as he started to explain.

"It's apparently a legend for vampire royalty to find their soulmate who will rule along side them. A vampire royal will give their soulmate this necklace and if it glows, they're meant to be."

I slightly blushed as I looked at Minhyun. "So does that mean I'm your soulmate?" I playfully said as Minhyun laughed along with me.

"Weeelll.. soulmate is too early for me.. how about friends?" I smiled and nodded. "Friends sound good to me..
So friend, what do you wanna do now?"

Minhyun shrugged his shoulders as he looked at me with a mischievous smile. "Let's ditch this party and go get some pizza. I'm starving.." I laughed again as we left the house.

'I may have not been able to confess, but this is way better..'
