I looked up at the sky as I walked to school from the train terminal. It was another normal first day of school. I was dressed in my usual attire for school.

Once I got closer to the school gates, I smiled to myself as I started bolting to my classroom. Once I entered, I waved to my friends who were already at their desks. I sat down behind them and smiled brightly.
They smiled back and turned around in their seats. "So (Y/N), how was your summer? Probably better than ours." I shook my head and before I could answer, I heard some noise at the other side of the classroom. I saw Yuuri, the cutest girl in school, talking with some of the boy classmates. My friends rolled their eyes. "She so annoying! I hate the way she's just taking all the guys for herself." I just slowly nodded as the teacher came in and class started.
After class finished, my friends and I went to the snack shop. I bought a bunch of things and started eating some of my bread. As my friends and I were walking to class, I bumped into a boy, causing some of my bread to fall. However, the boy caught the bread and put it back into my bag.
"Watch where you're going.." I looked back only to see the back figure of the boy. My eyes widened as I saw the boy walk away. "Daniel..." my friends looked at the boy weirdly "Isn't that the new transfer student in our class?" I just handed them my things. "You guys go on ahead. I have to check something."
Before they could say anything, I started running down the hall towards Daniel. I was about to reach him when I heard someone call him over. "Yo, Euigeon!" I saw Daniel waved back and sighed as I walked back to class.
After school, I was walking home when I saw Daniel again. Before I could go talk to him, I felt raindrops on my head. I looked up and saw rain pouring down hard. I put my bag over my head as I ran to the nearest shelter, which was an abandoned temple. As I tried to dry myself off, I noticed someone else sitting down, looking up at the rain clouds.
Daniel. I felt that this was my chance, so I went up to him. "Kang Daniel-ssi?" Daniel looked up at me and just blankly stared. "My name is Euigeon" I felt my face become red in embarrassment a si turned around. "Sorry, I thought you were someone else."
As I was trying to leave, Daniel's voice made me stop in my tracks. "This rain started pretty suddenly, huh?" I turned around and looked at Daniel, with the feeling that I've gone through this before.
[FLASHBACK] It was another normal day. I was in the second year of middle school and on my way home. It wasn't a few moments later when I felt raindrops on my head. I saw dark clouds in the sky and rain pouring down on me. I ran to the nearest shelter when I saw another person. Kang Daniel.
He was the most outgoing and friendly person in my class. But every time our eyes met, we would look away, but then they would meet again. I felt awkward and as I turned to leave, Daniel looked over and saw me. "This rain started pretty suddenly, huh?" I looked back and slowly nodded.
As I was looking for a handkerchief to dry myself, Daniel gave me his shirt and smiled before running off in the rain.
We started talking a lot more and one day, he asked me to meet him at 101 Park underneath the clock at 7. I agreed and felt my heart beat 10x faster that day. However, Daniel never showed up to the park at 7. And every other day after that. Slowly I forgot about him until...
[FLASHBACK OVER]
I nodded and saw the rain starting to clear up. Daniel and I grabbed our bags and went our separate ways

Weeks have past and a lot has changed. Daniel told me that he changed his name after he left to be with dad here in Seoul after his mom died in Busan. I left my so called friends for new ones, including Yuri, Murao and Kominato. Daniel, or Euigeon and I have become a bit closer but I still feel a bit awkward.
Since all of us made up our class's student council, we stayed back a lot to finish work, but one day it was just Daniel and I.
We were working and I couldn't help but glance at him. His features did look Daniel a couple of years ago, but it wasn't the same. Daniel noticed and sighed. "Are you going to stop staring and start doing your work?" I jumped a bit in shock and grabbed my pencil "I'm working, I'm working. It's just..I'm comparing the new you to the old you. You changed a lot, Daniel"
I looked at Daniel one more time before glancing at him again. Daniel noticed and glanced over at me. "Don't try and look for the old me. He's gone. And don't call me Daniel. It's Euigeon, okay?"
I nodded and continued my work. I didn't notice Daniel staring at me. He smiled to himself before going back to work and I did the same.
