FOURTY ONE

"Is everything set up?" I ask Auston, Steph and Mitch.

"Yup" they all said.

"Well Mitch it's almost time" I said to him.

"Steph let's go and hide" Auston takes Steph's hand and takes her to the hiding.

"Mitch i'm honestly proud of you" I said as I pat him on the shoulder.

"Thanks Maddy I just can't believe i'm actually doing this" he says as he pulls out a little box and opens it.

"I chose the one she wanted" Mitch shows me the ring.

"Mitch" I said to him as I gave him a hug.

I remember when Mitch was too shy to talk to a girl in high school.

He would always tell me he would never marry a girl because of how nervous he got.

But that all changed once he met Ally.

Today i'm witnessing my best friend propose to the girl he loves.

"Well I should go hide" I said to him as he closes the box and puts it back into his pockets.

"Here Maddy" Mitch hands me a box of tissues.

"I know you and Steph are going to cry back there. I also have a second box for William because I know how emotional he gets" Mitch hands me a second box.

"Good luck" I said to him as I walked over to the hiding spot.

I hear soft giggles coming from the hiding spot.

I see Auston and Steph laughing at something on Auston's phone.

"What?" I asked as I took a seat next to Steph.

"It's a video of Mitch from today" Auston shows me the video.

It was Mitch dancing in the washroom, naked.

Luckily his area wasn't showing, he was covering it with his towel.

"I can't believe this guy is getting engaged tonight" Steph said.

"Good luck Ally" Auston says as we all just continue to giggle.

William has been awfully quiet this evening.

We stop at the parking lot.

"William wait" I said as he looks at me.

"William what's up? You have been quiet this whole car ride" I ask him as he suddenly get nervous.

"I-It's nothing" he says as I knew instantly that he was lying.

"William" I get serious "Tell me"

"But you're going to be upset" he says.

"William nothing is going to let me down" I said to him as he took a deep breath.

"Mitch's going to propose to Steph" he says as I just froze.

"Oh" I said as I sat back in my seat.

"I'm so so so sorry Ally, I know how much you love him" he says.

"It's okay i'm over it" I said.

"Um Ally can you wait for me on the rooftop, I have to park somewhere else since this is a no parking zone?" William asks as I just nod and walk out the car.
