Thomas' POV

We sat in silence till the others started waking up. I tried to think about how we were going to get the girls back but looking up at the heated sky, I was beginning to lose hope. 

The mood wasn't good either, everyone was quiet as we had no idea what to say, we had lost them both, and none of us expected to find them alive (if we even found them at all). I tried not to think about it that much because if I did think about it I would start crying, and I wasn't going to start crying until I knew they were both gone forever. 

"We should go back to Kevin, get to the right arm and then fly to Europe to get them," Newt suggested. The sound of optimism seemed to blow through us all like a warm breeze. If a warm breeze was difficult, unrealistic and full of false hopes. 

"What if something happened to Kevin and his troops, no way would they let Jorge past if he knew we were going this way," Daniel spoke up, his voice shallow and weak. Of course, he had lost the only real person he had called a friend, it must be very hard for him. 

"Well, we can't give up. Not on them, we go to the safe haven together, or not at all," Minho answers, standing up and throwing his shoulders back in an attempt to look confident, It didn't really work. 

"Yeah and what if we do find them but they're..." Aris started, he didn't need to finish. Everyone knew what he meant, but they're dead. That is what he was going to say. The mood dropped back down, Minho sat down. 

"They're still going to go to the Safe Haven, alive or not. We can't keep them here. They shouldn't be left in this world," Brenda speaks up, it was strange to hear her speak so respectfully of Teresa and Harriet having not known them very long at all. I couldn't agree more with what she said, I just hoped to God that we found them both alive. 

"Teresa must have been taken as well or else we would have found her body," Aris said, placing his hands on his knees and leaning closer into the group. He looked focused and ready to start planning, I wasn't sure how he was able to do this, start planning on getting them back knowing we might be searching for people who aren't even alive. 

"Yeah, now we just need to know which country to go to, where about in that country they are. Get there quickly so nothing happens to them, then we have to find the place, get them out and then to Dubai before the doors close to the Safe Haven. A piece of cake," I replied angrily. I had no idea why I was angry, I was angry at Jorge, Kevin, Teresa, Harriet, Brenda, Aris. I was angry with them all.

Everyone looked over at me, shocked by my lack of optimism. I was just speaking the truth, they were gone. I looked away from the others and thought of the other night when I had kissed her- I wanted to go back to that moment. I would have left just then and made sure we were off the site by the time Jorge showed up. Teresa might still be here if I had. 

I had been trying all night not to think about her, my chest hurt whenever my brain told me that I wouldn't be able to save her but now- looking at a bunch of determined faces, I know Teresa and Harriet wouldn't give up on us, and I'm not quite ready to give up on them either. 

Teresa's POV  

My plan failed so quickly, it could only be considered as a 'moment of madness'. I ran into the crowds, only to be pulled back, I fell back and hit my head hard against the platform I was standing on a second ago. my head slammed back and hit the concrete hard, Usually, this would make someone want to pass out but anger got the better of me and I stood back up. Sadly, by this point, half of the immunes had already been grabbed and tied back up, thrown into the crowds of scientists who were planning on taking them back to their individually run labs to try to find a cure. 

I found Harriet, she was badly injured- there were scratches up her arm and blood trickling out her mouth. I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Just then, I felt someone push me forward. I was vaguely aware of the woman standing 6 or so metres away from where I stood with a freshly fired gun in her hands. I would have been shot in the ribs if I hadn't been pushed. I spun around, trying to see through people running around. I couldn't see anyone I recognised but someone had definitely just saved my life...

Thomas' POV

We had a plan, it was the most dangerous thing I had ever heard in my life but it was worth the shot if it meant getting them back. I, Daniel and Newt were waiting at the outskirts of the town, I could almost see the trucks from where we had left Kevin and his troops behind although I was sure that was just my imagination because as far as we know, Kevin and his troops left us.

"Are you guys sure we should be doing this? I mean there has to be a better way" Newt said, nervously tugging on the frayed hem on his dirty shirt. I could not agree more with him but we were running out of time, there was no time to sit down and come up with ideas. 

"So how do we get their attention?" Daniel asked next, It was Brenda and Frypan's idea, to have us stand here and wait for them to come but there had to be a way to let them know we were waiting. 

"I'm not sure they are even here, Brenda says they went to Europe," I replied making Daniel frown, "then why did Brenda make us-" he was cut off by the sound of metal against metal. We all looked up at the same time to see three people. They didn't look like much- if anything I was more threatened by the sun exposure from standing out here. One was a woman, she was beautiful with her shoulder-length pale brown hair and blue/ green wide eyes. Her associates were both men, one was slim and a little shaggy with choppy black hair, the other looked like someone who should have stayed in Ancient Rome, he wasn't wearing a top and had twigs in his ginger beard. His eyebrows were furrowed. 

I thought we could take them until they brought out the biggest axe I had ever seen in my life and held it out, I followed the long, bulky wooden handle until I saw that one end was just touching Daniel's chest.
