Chapter 5 First Trial

Kaira's pov

"You are from the mortal world, am I right?" Ren asked while walking with his hands inside his pocket

I can observe that the girls we walked pass by stared at him with admiration. He is like a handsome prince walking in a commoner's corridor. Wait, what? From the mortal world? That doesn't sound normal.

"Don't act like this isn't the mortal world" I said

He stopped walking and looked at me with confusion. He grab my hands and rush inside an empty room.

"You don't know where you are?" he asked

I wasn't able to see the expression painted on his face because the whole room was pitch black. No light was going in or out.

"Well, I'm in an academy which I don't know what is called. Is this like, Mountanious Academy? Giant Academy? Mount Olympus? I don't really know" I calmly said while roaming around the room

This feels like an abandoned classroom base on the chairs covered with thick dust that I touched. There was an old dusty blackboard. I searched for the switch and I was successful in that.

I saw Ren closed his eyes for a second. "Maybe Lady Alexandra forgot to tell you or she wants to let you discover it by your self" he stated while walking towards me

"Discover what?" I asked while wiping the teacher's table

I can see a glimpse of words written on it. Ren was just standing in front of me wearing a confident smile.

"Answer it by your self" he said and showed a sharp blue dagger

He played it in his hands while looking at me mischievously. I finished wiping the dust and what was written was unexpected. "First trial"

It was just a blink and Ren was already in front of me, pointing the dagger to my face.

"Let's have a short fun battle" he said

I stepped backwards, frightened by what he can do. I'm weaponless and he has a dagger. I can't fight barehanded. I'm better with swords.

"Give me a sword and I'm gonna give you the fight you wanted" I said with a smirk

He smiled softly and grabbed a blue sword from his back. Wow, he's nice at hiding things. I didn't saw that earlier.

I think that man is obsessed with the color blue. He suddenly throw the sword in the mid air and I was able to catch it with my right hand.

I didn't waited for him to signal or to attack first. I hit his dagger away from him. He was shocked by my sudden attack. Is this even legal here?

I pointed my sword at his manly neck. I can't kill him, but I can make him a simple tattoo.

I was about to rip a small part of his neck when the table turned upside down. He is now at my back trapping my neck with his deadly dagger.

"Impressive" Ren said before pushing me

He was strong enough to push me on my knees. The impact wasn't that bad but I was hurt. This man is on an another level. His strength is inhuman.

I stood up and faced him with determination. He on the other hand was smiling like he has done something funny.

I didn't rush to attack him. It's to reckless to do so. So I formally walk towards him. I slashed my swords to him but he was fast enough to partially escape my attack. But I was able to rip a small part of his right shoulder.

I stepped back immediately to insure my safety. I positioned my self to prepare for his next attack. I can't let my guards down.

I was expecting a revenge but he has done the unexpected one. He clapped as if he saw a brilliant show with his bare eyes.

"Congratulations Kaira, you passed the first trial" he said while clapping his hands

He snapped his fingers and a blinding light appeared. I opened my eyes as soon as the light faded.

My jaw dropped when I saw eight person standing at our back.

They were all epitome of perfection. Their presence was heavy with great superiority and pride.

"You can go to your dorm now" the man that looks like their teacher said

I didn't hesitate to grab the door and step outside. The atmosphere became tense there. A girl like me can't take the presence of those perfect dolled up human beings.

Ren gave me a map so I know where I should go. He said that my baggage are all brought there by a trusted guard.

I stopped in front of the white door. I'm very nervous. What if they have bad attitudes? But I think it's too early to judge.

I took a deep breath and gathered all my confidence. I knocked 5 times before the door finally opened.

The girl that opened the door immediately grab me inside and locked the door. She sat in front of me along with her two friends, I think.

"Please introduce yourself" she said formally

"Umm. Well, I'm Kaira Zoe Curtis. Your new dormmate" I said in a shy voice

The girl that grabbed me doesn't look as perfect as those dolls that I met earlier. But she looks simple yet elegant.

Her yellow hair flows to her torso. Her pitch eyes was gentle and sincere. She looks like a kind person.

On her left was a girl with a silky gray straight hair reaching her waist. Her eyes was luxurious amythest in color.

On her right was a girl with an enthusiastic smile on her red thin lips. Her hair was curly brown paired with her crimson eyes.

And I finally got a conclusion. I'm not in a normal academy with not normal students.
