// Chapter 6 - Nochu, Over and Out //

**Jungkook's POV**

The deepening blue sky falls upon the horizon, forming a perfect halo around the buildings of the campus. Jungkook watches it descend serenely, sniffling when a cold breeze passes by. He tugs his jacket tighter around his lean figure when he feels a shiver run down his back, hugging his knees to tuck it under his chin.

"This is ridiculous, Kook. You haven't eaten since morning," Jimin sighs, leaning on the thick bark of the Oaktree.

It was exactly 5 minutes into dusk, a good 3 hours after the game had ended and Jungkook still hasn't moved an inch. After his last text to Jimin saying that he was still waiting for Taehyung, his two friends had trudged over to check on his wellbeing. They shook their heads when they spotted Jungkook curled up under the gigantic tree with its low hanging branches.

"Yeah, at least take my burrito," Hoseok offered with a pitiful smile as he reaches out his arm, dangling the stuffed Mexican delicacy wrapped in shiny aluminum foil. When the boy shook his head, he added, "This is the only time I'm going to let you off with stealing my food. Take it, Jeon."

With another light shove of the half-eaten burrito from Hoseok, Jungkook finally takes it, gingerly grabbing it. Only when he takes a whiff of the burrito did he realize how hungry he was. His stomach grumbles as he takes a bite.

"I love you guys," Jungkook sobs out after getting a taste of the deliciousness that is the Mexican wrap.

"Ah, I forgot about how unnecessarily emotional you get when you're hungry," Jimin chuckles while shaking his head.

This fact has been established after the three of them went on a weekend road trip together. It was Spring break circa 2015 when they got stuck in the longest car ride of their life without food. That was the time they uncovered a very whiny and needy Jungkook, clinging and drooling on Jimin's arms. It was hilarious at first but it got annoying once he started to literally weep. In the end, they had to drive off the highway in search of the nearest convenience store. Two chocolate bars and a bun later, he was back to normal.

"I'm not emotional," Jungkook whimpers with a pout as he wipes his nose. "Stop treating me like I'm a 16-year-old girl on her period. And it's not as if the guy I like stood me up before I could even ask him out."

Both Jimin and Hoseok's expressions soften as they share a look. They've both had their fair share of heartbreaks, but couldn't imagine going through it right after struggling with one's sexual orientation.

Jimin crouches down and gently squeezes Jungkook's shoulders, "Kookie, you can't stay here forever, you know that right? Maybe Preppy had something important to attend to."

Jungkook mulls it over while munching. He wanted to believe it so bad that Taehyung had been called away for something, but couldn't help feeling a little empty inside on the possibility that perhaps the older boy simply wasn't interested.
