"Dad! I'm leaving for the studio!" she says by the door.

Out pops out Hoseok's head from his office. "Alright, tell your dad I miss him when you see him at the studio."

"He slept in again?" she chuckled.

"You know Yoongi. He has a melody stuck in his head," he said, rolling his eyes. "Be safe!"

She shook her head, amused by her fathers. Oh how she loved them, she sighs.

"They're arriving in 10mins!" said her roommate excitedly. The 16-year-old girl jumped on her bed, waking her up from her fantasy land.

Her book fell on her face from her roommate's constant jumping. "Let me read in peace for the last time in this room why don't you," she groans.

In all honesty, she was only dragging the time she had to get ready for her new parents to fetch her. Yes, she was grateful that she finally got a free pass to leave the orphanage. But this has been her home since she was seven. After spending a decade in this fortress, she's grown attached to it.

"I'm still curious..." says her roommate. She sits by the bed and props her head up on her folded knees.

"About?"

"You're 17...by April next year, you'd be a legal adult, allowed to support yourself in the open world. So why adopt you anyways? Why not the little ones? Don't people always go for them?" she rambled.

Those questions sounded familiar to her. Then she realised it had been the same ones she had asked herself after the couple had picked her. Why did they agree to adopt someone as old as her?

"I don't know either..." she sighed. "Promise, I'll tell you all about it."

The car ride was silent, but not the uncomfortable kind. It was more of a peaceful atmosphere, almost a relieving state. Like somehow having her as their legal daughter was all they needed to complete their lives. She took another peek at her two new dads. The one driving had a genuine warmth to him. She could feel it. He has been a spotting an easy smile since their arrival at the orphanage.

He caught her eye from the rear view mirror and didn't hesitate to strike a conversation. "I'm sorry if this is taking so long. Our house is a little further up the hills. I hope you don't mind."

"No! Not at all," she says, quick to dismiss his concern. It was a habit she's attained from being an orphan. Never be a burden to the people that take you in, that was what she learned.

His partner turned around to face her, "I must warn you, it can get a little adjusting to. You must be used to a house full of kids."

She started noticing the houses that they were passing by. As they get bigger, the distance between each house grew wider as well. Only then did she start to feel the loneliness set in. She won't have the pitter patters of the young kids running around upstairs to wake her up in the morning. And the noisy chatters of everyone coming back from free time, hungry for dinner. At the same time, she had to admit she wouldn't mind having a quiet house to finally finish reading her book.

"It's quite alright. I have enough books to keep myself distracted," she smiles.

"You love to read?" the one driving asked excitedly. "That's perfect! We've got an amazing patio out back that overlooks the city. I personally like to do my work out there."

"Yes, and you leave your husband all alone inside the house," his partner retorted with a smirk.

"Yoongi, it's not my fault you prefer to sit inside," he laughs.

She couldn't help but giggle along to their bickering. Her new dads seem like a lot of fun to be with. Easy-going, open-minded and in love. She was going to love it here, she knew it.
