Lauren composed herself after ilang segundong nakatitig lang sa biglang sulpot na si Kirby.

"I don't know what did I do wrong. But I just want all of you to know that I'm not like any other b*tches out there. I never tried to attract or even seduce him. Yeah, it's true that I have a crush on him, but I'm contented of what I am to him before... A total stranger. It just happened that we became close because we have common friends. And if you're thinking that he's just flirting with me because he felt pity, well sorry... For letting you know that he even made a surprise for me at his grannies' house last Saturday."

Ang totoo ay 'di niya alam kung seryoso ba talaga sa kanya si Gab o hindi. But she managed to say those things for her to defend herself, stop being a damsel in distress. She also needs to protect herself.

Pagtapos nun ay tumakbo agad siya sa likod ng building nila, hindi niya namalayan na sumunod pala sa kanya si Kirby, nakasuot pa din ito ng pajamas at plain shirt lang. Halatang nagmadali talagang pumunta roon para ipagtanggol ang bestfriend.

"Denden." He stand next to her and  massage her hair while keep on saying her nickname.

"Kirbeng, why are you here?" Hindi pa din ito tumitingin sa kanya, deretso lang ang mga mata nito.

"I want to protect you from... Those wiches."

"Hmmm. Tell me, why are you that over protective of me?"

"Because you're special to me...

Because you're my bestfriend."

She turned her head to her betfriend and give him a smile.

"Before... I always asking myself. Why can't we just be more than being what we are. Why is that you only sees me as a bestfriend? And then Gabriel exists in our very peaceful world, though we're crazy." She chuckled then she continue what  she was telling.

"When I met him, I knew he's the one who will help me out of this infatuation with you. I was right, I even fall for him. Since we became friends, I always smiling though sometimes it hurts to hear something like I don't deserve him...

Like duh, we're just friends. I only keep on telling myself, keep calm and ignore them... And then the day came when he asked if he can court me, it was out of the blue. I really didn't expect it. 

At first I can't say yes because I was afraid of the thought... Maybe the words that they're throwing against me will become worse. But it also came to my thoughts that I deserve to be happy also... But I'm right again, earlier this day, I know it's just words but it's more painful than this wound I got today."

Nagulat si Kirby ng makita niyang may sugat ang bestfriend sa tuhod, kaya pala medyo iba ito maglakad ngayon. He even feels worried dahil na din umiiyak na ngayon si Lauren.

"That's why now Kirby, the question I was asking to myself four years ago, came back... Why can't it be you? Am I not enough for you? I thought you were helping me, but what did you do? You just got things worse. I wish it was you instead of him." 

Walang masabi si Kirby. Ilang segundo lang siyang nakatingin sa umiiyak na bestriend.

"Then be with me."

Bigla naman napatingin sa kanya si Lauren na may pagtatakang mukha.

"H-huh?!" O.o
