The Chosen Two (Harry Potter X Reader) Years 1-7

Chapter 4

Spring had come and it was a nice day out. Harry came up to me calling my name to get my attention. "Yes?" I asked a little tired.

"I was wondering if you could come with me to professor Lupin's office. He is going to tech me how to use this charm and he had said to bring you because you know how to use it and that-"

"Okay lets go." I cut him off.

Harry looks at me confused but then realizes what I said and we were on our way. Once there Remus- Professor Lupin greeted us happily. "Harry, (y/n). You came." I walk over to the steps and sit down after smiling to Remus who is standing at the balcony like thing. "Now are you sure about this Harry? You know this is very advanced magic well beyond the wizarding level."

"I'm sure." Harry said looking up at Remus.

"Everything is prepared." He said more to me and himself than Harry. "Now," he starts making his way down the steps "the spell I am going to try and teach you is called, the Patronus Charm. Ever hear of it?" Harry simply shakes his head as he listens very intently to Remus. "No." Remus voices Harrys movements as he gets to the bottom of the stairs. "Well, a Patronus is a kind of positive force and for a wizard- or which," he looks at me as I smile "who can conjure one, it works something like a sheild, with the dementor feeding on it rather than him or her." He has made his way around Harry and sits down on a chest. "In order for it to work you will need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very power memory." He waves his right hand about. "Can you do this?" He asks as I stand up and Harry nods his head. "Yes." Remus voices again. "Very well." I turned my gaze to Harry watching him curiously. "Close your eyes." I cant tell if Harry doing what he's told because all I can see is his back. "Concentrate. Explore your past. Do you have a memory?" Harry slightly nods as Remus walks around him. "Allowed it to fill you up. Lose yourself in it. Then speak the incantation, Expecto Patronum." Remus stopped at Harrys side.

After a moment Harry repeated it absently. "Expecto Patronum."

"Very good." Remus finished his circle walking back to the chest as Harry tilted his head down "Shall we?" Remus asked and Harry nodded. "Wand at the ready." He said as Harry pulled out his wand.

Remus waved his hand in front of the chest twice unlocking it and held it down for a moment as he looked at Harry then at me. I nod telling him to go on. He opens the chest and a boggert came flying out. Harry raised his wand to the boggert dementor a few candles blowing out and said, "Expecto Patronum. Expecto... Expecto... Expecto..."

Harry fainted falling to the floor and I pulled my wand from my boot quickly, ran infront of Harry, pulled forth the strongest memory I have, which is still the same from the summer and a light came from my wand before I was able to say a word putting the boggert dementor back in the chest. Once it was, I drop my hand and go to Harry's side starting to sit him up. "Well talk about that later." Remus says before saying to Harry as he wakes up "Here we go. Come on sit up. Deep breaths." I sit down as Harry gets up. "I didn't expect you to do it on the first try. That would have been remarkable. Here." He gives Harry a piece of chocolate. "Eat this. You'll feel better."

"That was one nasty dementor."

"Oh no no no no no no. That was a Boggert Harry." Remus says and gets up. "A boggert. The real thing, would be worse." He starts lighting the candless again. "Much much worse."

I help Harry stand up but stay sitting down. I am being awfully quiet. Harry nearly trips over me as he stumbles to a nearby column. "As a matter of interest, what were you thinking. Which memory did you choose?" Remus asks

"The first time I rode a broom." My head drop as I realize that he had chosen the wrong memory.

Remus turns around and looks at him "Thats not good enough. Not nearly good enough."
