By the time I had to leave this death trap, I was already beyond tired and the fact that all day I had to try my best to avoid my best friend didn’t help in the slightest. With a sigh I got myself through the front door of the school, trying not to get noticed by anyone; clearly I had failed horribly as a very familiar voice was soon echoing through the hallways. "Monique, hey where were you all day? I’ve been looking for y-"
"-Sorry Hunter, I’m just really busy and I have been all day. I’ve got to go." I stuttered trying to make my way past him as he knit his eyebrows closely together, "Suspicious behavior much?" he questioned following steadily behind me, "It’s not don’t be stupid, I’m just busy is all it is." I replied with a straight tone as he chuckled, "I’m kidding, geez why are you so uptight today?"
I sighed as I lifted my head to face him, I recognized a figure in the distance which resembled Niall’s, I squinted slightly as I realized they were literally situated all around us. My eyes widened in shock and anguish, they were serious. "Hunter. Seriously I cannot talk right now. I’ll text you, bye." I snapped walking quickly towards the bus; getting in before he could respond to any of what I had said.
I stared out of the bus window in desperation as Hunter skated past, Harry’s group had soon disappeared and I was left to wonder whether they had gone after Hunter or left the scene. I sighed holding tightly onto my arm as I laid my head back with a small pout spread across my lips, this had already gone too far and it hasn’t even been a week.
I sighed as the bus stopped at the bus stop and I stepped out, making my way down the busy street. The park was filled with parents and children making their way to and from school, this time of day it was always full. The laughter of the little ones brought a small smile to my once strained features and I took a deep breath, maybe my day would be better after I take a nice warm shower and had something good to eat. As I continued to walk; I felt a strong grip latch onto my forearm, causing me to jolt up in shock.
"What the hell, I thought I told you to le-" I groaned as I stared up at Harry whose grip had only tightened. "I told you to leave him alone, maybe you don’t understand how serious I am." He spoke sternly and strictly, his voice’s depth accentuating the tone. "Listen, just leave me alone okay. I was avoiding him all day and I greeted him goodbye. That’s it. Just fuck off already." I responded harshly as I tried walking away, but he yanked me back causing me to lift my hand in an effort to slap his face, but he gripped my hand mid-air digging his nails into my skin as the fury in his eyes only increased with his growing smirk. "I am not going to take your attitude okay, if you want me to make a scene in front of all these people I don’t mind being noticed, I can have all eyes on us in a heartbeat if you want. So I would think twice about what I was about to do next if I were you." He threatened calmly dropping my hand as he crossed his arms over his toned chest.
I groaned with a frown as I nodded in surrender, looking up at him calmly. He directed his head towards the bench as he walked to it and took a seat, me doing the same. "Act comfortable, we don’t need any suspicion. People are already staring as it is…" he instructed as I sighed sitting back on the bench, trying to me as ‘normal’ as possible. "Where’s the rest of them?" I asked with genuine curiosity and maybe that was fear… that burning feeling in my chest, never satisfied by my minds perception of anything happening at the moment. "Here and there, they’re watching your little ‘boy-toy’." He shrugged leaning back onto the arm rest as my eyes widened. He must have noticed this change in my reaction as he was quick on his feet to correct himself. "Don’t worry. He’s not in danger, whether he is or not…well now that depends on you eh?"
"Okay, are they all watching him?" I frowned as he shook his head, "No."
"Why are you here? Just to threaten me again?" I muttered rolling my eyes as he knit his brows staring at me, which quickly got replaced by that ever-so-popular smirk. "You’re going to make this whole situation harder than it needs to be. If you co-operate I can guarantee your safety and your friend’s. If you listen that is. But since you are reluctant to comply, you’re going to have to suffer for it." Harry’s voice was now somewhat darker, I had tried to keep my composure but now genuine fear had struck throughout my body and the feeling in my legs were gone. "I’ll do it. I’ll co-operate. I’m yours, I’ll listen." I frowned whispering softly as he nodded getting up. This shouldn’t be that bad, I mean I had already seen a side of him I hadn’t ever known about, maybe there’s more to this. I was becoming what I hated. All the girls he’s ever been with, they’ve ever been with. Got isolated, everyone either too scared or too judgmental to speak to them. I didn’t want that, somehow whenever a fight or something would happen and they broke up, those girls had disappeared. Left towns, transferred schools, or just changed all together. Always being the talk of the school, always being watched. It was torture."You’re going to need to learn a few things." He muttered lifting me up as I sighed, "What do you mean?"
"Attitude adjustment, what to wear, what not to wear, how to compose yourself and who to talk to, who to trust, what to talk about. You’re going to need to get to know the boys, how they are and how to address each of them. Some respect will need to be taught and when to keep quiet is compulsory. You can’t always know about everything, we have a selected amount of people you communicate with. In return for all of this, you get safety. We get what we want." He grinned and I held onto my arm, "What exactly would that be?"
"Let’s go." He commanded, completely ignoring my question. I frowned shaking my head, maybe agreeing was a mistake. I’m getting involved with a gang. "Where are we going?"
"To Niall’s place, you’re going to get to know Abigail. This should go well." He sighed running a hand through his semi-sweat stained hair as he took hold of my hand roughly, tugging me forward as he draped his arm lazily over my shoulders. Seems this was going public sooner than expected, he didn’t seem too excited, and Abigail is the only known girl to still be in a relationship with one of them after three years she and Niall have been together, they were like the power couple of gangs. When Harry and the rest weren’t having flings or relationships which haven’t lasted longer than a year. The longest relationship anyone’s ever known Louis to have was 7 months, three weeks, two days. Liam’s were 5 months, 1 week and 3 days, Zayn’s were 5 months on the dot, he dropped her on their anniversary and Harry’s longest was 2 months, which was a fling gone wrong. She was constantly miserable and her grades had gone down along with her self-esteem.
Niall was the only one in a relationship for this long, everyone had always wondered why the man-whores couldn’t ever keep one down, guess I was going to find out.
